Thanks for the explanation dkjab, at least I now know how to check the REAL capacity, but as I say, I will not be risking getting these things from eBay anymore, they have been NO help to me whatsoever! Some might say that I was a mug getting caught 3 times in the first place  . . . but NO MORE!!

Thanks to everyone on here who has helped me. xx

OMG, will think of myself as lucky compared to your poor friend - although nobody should count themselves LUCKY to get what they paid for!!

Re: The Blacklist

They listed them as 30GB harddrives, but the prices seems too good to be true. i'm sure a 30GB mini-harddrive costs much more than that.

Hi,
would like to report midalap as another seller of hacked players. After some emails they finally admitted that their players are dodgy. Here the quote:
Quote:

sorry to send wrong memory player

we refund 8.00GBP to u
and u withdraw bad feedback for us .do u agree?
Obviously, I'll not take my feedback back.

Add e-britain to the Blacklist!

Received an advertised '4GB', which after formatting became a 1GB player.

Their eBay store:

I can confirm e-britain is selling 1GB as 4GB.

Have e-mailed some of their other customers,
seems none have real 4GB.
I have expressed my concerns to e-britain, they
offered 5GBP refund seemingly to shut me up.
I accepted but told them I was going to give -ve
and they tried to negotiate further but refused to change the faulty description (which also wrongly states
from UK not HK).
e-bay customer support suggested filing paypal claim,
but this involves being willing to send it back.
I gave negative feedback, but it is swamped by
positives from people that do a functionality only
test, and/or are convinced by the 4GB sticker
and explorer/units own report. They'll get corrupt
files one day when they fill memory past 961MB.
Need repartitioning/low level format using RDiskUtility.

Re: The Blacklist

I just found this site, lol was sent here by the BLown-z people on ebay to get the AMV convertor and after reading this stuff I checked my player and it too is just 1gb instead a 4gb player.
I am so pissed I can't see straight, I had all kind of problems trying to get the software to download files into the player,so I did what you all reccomended and reformated it. Ended up being a 1gb player not a 4gb.

Sent them a refund or else type of letter and one to ebay for fraud .

They may not which ones are hacked themselves, allthough I doubt it!

Price has to tell you something when buying these.
Good thing i paid with Paypal and credit card.. I may actually see a refund.

Crap this was going to be for the wife for Christmas too

Live and Learn
Thanks Guys
Gary

Re: The Blacklist

E-britain is selling hacked mp3 players on ebay. I bought one and upon arrival it looked good but when loading music on it the files and file system corrupts. You end up with the music you put on it copying over files making them corrupt. The 4gb mp3 players are in reality 512mb. Upon contacting E-britain he will tell you to simply format it. You could do this over and over with the same result. I have opened a dispute thru ebay and paypal. I suggest you do the same if this seller has tried to con you too.

Thanks, Hooperjjoop. I am another one of E-BRITAIN's con-victims. I bought a 4GB player just a moment ago and now I am well worried... sigh.
