Why would they seller still lie?
I was browseing ebay for mp4 players and I ran into this one where it tells you if you format the mp4 the capacity will be less than what you paid for, then why would they still lie about the capacity if it is less than what they say???

azulblueaoi,
I think what they are referring to is that the 1GB chip which is 1024MB will only show after formatting as about 995MB. For instance my 2GB (2048MB) players read as 1.90GB. This is quite normal. |

oh, makes sence...

tadad has a point.
However, when you read the bit that saids "flash module block limitations" that's abit dodgy. There isn't any "limitiations" in a flash memory that will make the storage capacity decrease. It's the file system itself that's causing the slight decrease in memory after formatting as one megabyte is equal to 1024 bytes. I don't think that's a limitation, it's by design. So when I see "flash module block limitations", that tells me they're covering their backs for hacked players. It also doesn't tell you how much it will decrease by either. |
Damn, and thats where I bought my mp4 player, its a 2 GB, since I've been reading more about these hacked things Im not sure that my player is really 2 GB, because with 2GB I should be able to put more than 103 songs on it right, It only lets me to load that many songs on to it and two music videos, so do you think my player might be hacked, I've had it since Aug, I'm a bit scared to format my player because I don't want to screw it up or find out that I have less space than I really paid for. Has anyone bought from smartarea from ebay, they have a site www.smartarea.com , I need to buy 3 more players for christmas, but Im not sure where to buy for cheaper price. I checked out Uxcell but I would like to pay a bit more cheaper, because I need to get 3 players, can anyone recommend a place they bought from, that have really good prices, other than Uxcell??

azulblueaoi,
It sounds like a dodgy chip, your only choices are to either format it or live with the problem. Depending on the size of your M3P's you should be able to fit about 500 128kbps MP3's on a 2GB player. Regarding player prices you get what you pay for a really cheap 2GB player is most likely going to be hacked. At least with Uxcell you are going to get what you pay for. |
Well I paid $78 CAD so probly around $70 US, thats alot of money, dont you think? Well ya its alot cheaper than an Ipod.
