hi i won and paid for the 4gb player 3 days ago before i found out in disgust and heartbreak of the truth of it! first, how do i check how big the drive is? should i refuse the package? i emailed them last night to say i found out about it and that many many others have disclosed that its compasity is false and misrepresented! and want them to cancel my payment and not send it "otherwise"! etc. i feel sick to my stomach and freakin frustrated that i seem to always make the wrong decisions like this purchase! any chance that it could be the full 4 gigs? anyone heard anyone say that they had the full 4gb? eeek!

Godchild13, check the topic here, it has all the answers for you, unfortunatly the chip does not support memory over 2 GB. You were probably sold a 2 Gb (gigabit, rather then gigabyte= gigabit x 8. A chance you got a half or 1 gigabyte, so the seller can say he even gave you more then he advertised with, because 2 Gb is 256 MB at most.

Im the seller blown-z on ebay. As you can see im a fairly small seller just kind of learning the curves to ebay and importing from china. I have not done a hole lot of business with china until this year. We did import a lot of these players in from china for the holiday season. As most of you know there is a lot to learn as we are still doing. We imported a lot of these players by boat. I would say enough to last us through the holiday season. Most of you didnt know any information about these players until getting into them. The same goes for us. Bought a product and introduced it to the public just like the other 1000's that are listed on ebay. When one hops on the site and sees 1500+ 4Gb players for sale you would just think its really 4gig. Well until you really start getting complaints you dont realize that your supplier cheated you. I did the best i could to educate my buyers on how to work the players so i provided a link to this website with every order before even ordering these players. After doing more research after getting complaints we changed our ad again to make the public knowledgable of what he or she is getting. If the buyer is not happy after reading the auction we always offer a refund. If the buyer is not happy after using the player we offer a refund as well. I know a lot buyers on here did not know there was a problem with the player until recently(same for us). We are working with everyone on this problem. If you feel your item is not as described please email me and i will take care of it. I will try my best to answer any questions on this website as well.

Blown-Z,

Thank you for your refund this morning. It was greatly appericated. The Pink MP3 player was for my girlfriend and after discovering what I discovered I had to run out and buy a real iPod for her. 512MB won't cut it for a techie geek girl (HOT!)

Anyways, I understand you too did not know the players were hacked, that's the fault of the Chinese programmers. However, I did disagree with how you tried to "educate" me on how GB/Gb works. To this date, no one has ever sold an MP3 player in Gigabits.

Infact, the only company ever to operate in "Bits" was Nintendo. Remember the Nintendo 64 and how the games were advertised in Megabits while Sony said "We can stuff 700 MegaBYTES" into a game disc for our Playstation. Yup.

The first MP3 player I ever owned was the first MP3 player to ever exist -- the Diamond Rio PMP300. It had 32 Megabytes of memory. Diamond could've said it provided 256 Megabits of memory, but they did not.

My best advice to you is to unhack all the players and sell them for what they actually are. People will still buy them because they're great little iPod clones, you have nothing to fear. I bet you got these players for <$20US anyways, so it's not like you have anything to lose, especially when shipping is around ~$12 and it actually costs you $4-6 if you're actually in the United States, as you claim you are.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and an excellent holiday and I hope this generous, giving, spiritius time of the year offers you a moment to reflect on your business practices and how many children/friends/mom/dad/girlfriends/boyfriends/wifes/husbands/grandparents will feel when they try to load 2GB of music on their "2Gb" player and it doesn't work.

Just imagine all the people that will be hurt.

Also, I wanted to point out that you are at least clever with your titles. You said "2Gb Mp3 Mp4", that's clever because the "uninformed" buyer might think you're a person who doesn't capitalize words in succession and therefor would assume that the player was infact two gigabytes. Sneaky, sneaky.

I think if you were in the least bit sincere or remotely concerned about this problem you would start listing your players in MB or GB based on the memory chips true size. It is also very easy to restore the chips to reading their true size, something an honest trader would take the time to do.

blown-z: I just sent you some email via eBay about a player that I just received from you. It originally reported itself to Windows as having 1GB of memory, but after filling it up with songs, anything over about 200MB was not playable. I just re-formatted the player with FAT, and it is now reporting 233MB.

Blown-Z (powersellerturbo), My opinion is that you shouldn't have been so quick to try to shut people up when they pointed the problem out to you. That site you redirected people to was just a load of crap. You know people don't buy mp3 players based on a big B or little b as you tried to state. Furthermore, you were proven wrong with that theory as the players were hacked to show an amount of space that didnt exist. Screen captures were sent to you.

I personally have dealt with China suppliers of other items inthe past. Let me give you a heads up... They (Chinese) will try to rape all of your money and not give a damn what they send you and try to turn it around that YOU, the buyer, did something wrong. They were raised to be sneaky.

On another note, I did receive a response back from the Office of Meg Whitman.. they said they will most definitely change the way you list auctions. You will soon have to pick exactly what size you are listing so that thee is no confusion later on. So for instance.. the $Gb you list would have to be listed in the 1GB category. We all know that had they been listed as 1GB, your profit margin would be very small. I already looked into mp3/mp4 from china.. not worth it in the long run the way electronic prices fall.
