Exposing the fraud on ebay
Hi everyone,
I have now contacted at least 30 people who have bought these hacked players from various sellers on ebay. I have been sending the the list of chip codes and a link to this site. I have found that very few had realised that they were hacked. Most people reply and thank me for the info. One 4GB player that someone bought had a hacked Hynix memory chip, which turned out to be 1GB. This problem is not only with Samsung flash chips. I feel very satisfied with my work letting people know about this scam, I know it's not going to stop it, but every claim with Paypal is a step closer. I myself have been offered by Midalap an £8 refund on 2 players, i find this insulting and have continued my claim with Paypal. Thanks |
Re: Exposing the fraud on ebay
steveandali62 , great job you've done!
The hacked memory problem can exist on any branded/non-branded memory chips. Yes i agree that it isin't gonna stop those scammers anytime soon, but every mile begins with a step, and you have done that first step. Good on ya mate! |
We can only do are best, every successful Paypal claim or refund from scammer is a feather in our caps.
|
I have managed to raise my refund from scammer to £16.00 from £8.00. Now trying to get refund in my bank before I cancel Paypal claim, not easy.

steveandali62,
Keep up the excellent work. We hope that this site will help others and educate them before they buy 4GB players. |
Re: Exposing the fraud on ebay
Hi again, Midalap the seller who sold me a hacked 4GB player is telling me that he can not give me a refund unti hi Paypal Account suspension is lifted.
No guesses on why his account has been frozen, my heart bleeds. The problem is he is using this as an excuse or reason why he is unable to refund at the moment. He says that after Xmas should be able to refund. I said to him that there are many ways you can give me a refund, why cant you just put the refund in my bank account some other way, he says the only way is through Paypal. What I don't understand is you put in a dispute with Paypal for refund, but you can'nt have a refund because Paypal have suspended the sellers account. I am now asking myself one question, how on earth am I gonna get a refund through Paypal?? if it is Paypal that stopping the seller giving me a refund eh. Bye for now. |
open up a dispute, then click on dispute and "escalate to claim"
nice work m8 but your contacting people who have already got off him, ull go nowhere with that except them getting mad with the seller, its impossible to stop them to be honest... i saw people buy 4 at a time when the seller has 200neg. feedback but nice work spreading the weebsite |
Re: Exposing the fraud on ebay
I agree what you say, it is impossible to stop people buying these players in the first place, because lets face it I did.
The reason I am contacting people who have already bought is so they got a chance to realise the issues before it is to late to do anything about it, like make a claim. Every neg feedback may deter a few people from buying. And every Paypal claim that is started and every refund received because of my info has to be better than nothing. We are not gonna stop this no way but at least we can help people who have been conned. My motto is "every little bit helps". Bye for now |
Just wanted to add a 'Well done' and 'keep it up'. Yes, it will not stop these being bought, but it may eventually (perhaps) make paypal wonder about their profit margins if a large percentage of MP4 players result in conflicts and refunds.. Lets be honest here,, if a chinese company is selling a thousand a month of the 4gig players.. then if Paypal have to deal with refunds on even 10% then they are going to get sick of it eventually... and perhaps they 'may' start to ask questions of the sellers rather than the buyers... Obviously the problem comes if and when Paypal actually do 'spring' into action and suspend an account.. you cant get the money from an account that aint there.. but is the £10-20 refund going to make you happy? I would think that the grief you cause the seller is worth a tenner of anyones money.

Re: Exposing the fraud on ebay
Hi Again,
I applaud your comments, and I agree with every word. Just to let you know I spotted a listing for a 2GB Nano Clone the listing looked very impressive to say the least, as I was scrolling through all the info on this player I noticed that the seller had actually put a picture of the Samsung chip into his advert. I thought well maybe we have got some honest sellers about because surely no one would put a pic of a 1GB chip on an advert for a 2GB player. Well he did and even after me sending him a message about it, it is still there. He even replied to my message yesterday this is his reply: Thanks for that, I didnt notice that before! Regards SNS thanking me for spotting it The seller boasts that he has 100% pos feedback and is a trusted power seller and that he don't buy his players from HK, they are specialy made for his company & Item location is London, Lol. These people have got some back bone. Anyway one of his messages arrived in my inbox at 2.50am, now tell me he's not in HK. Sellers name: shinynewstuff Copy & paste The link below to take you to his listing. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...%26fvi%3D1/web By for now. |
