Default gcheung on ebay blacklisted

Having purchased 2 players from this man, Who's account said he was based in leighton buzzard. But when the products arrived from hong kong, I was a touch worried the players transpired to be half the advertised size 2gb instead of 4gb & one set of headphones doesn't work properly. I haven't left any feed back yet and i'm about to dispute it with paypal and ebay. Fortunatly i have a spare set of headphones. I shall keep you inform of the proportion of refund we recieve.
In the mean time buy your clone from someone else.

Default my paypal dispute

this is what i sent through paypal just now.

Having purchased this mp4 player from you which was sold as 4GB storage capacity. The actual capacity of the chipset(samsung 631) is only 2GB. I would be willing to forward photographic evidence of this and the fact that there is a 4GB sticker on the back of the case. I will also send evidence of the capacity as shown by windows. I have had the player checked by a fully qualified consultant developer employed by microsoft who would be more than happy confirm all the above in writing I look forward to your prompt reply.

Hopefully all will be well

i recieved this email today:

All the players are purchased from the manufactory as 4GB and we totally don't know what's happening here. Please send the item back to the following address: Cheung's , PO Box 198, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Tsuen Wan, N.T., Hong Kong. So that we can further check with the manufactory. And once we received your returned item, we will provide a full refund on your payment. Kindly advise us the tracking number once you have arranged your returned shipment. Thank you

I've replied with this:
In response to your email, it is my understanding that due to the incorrect description of the item and also the erroneous stated location of the item.I am under no obligation to return it to Hong Kong, but will gadly return it to the location stated in the auction of Leighton Buzzard U.K

dillon533 , haha!! i guess the seller would end up refunding you without you even sending the player back.

Good on ya!

i've just recieved this email from the seller:

Please note that if you won't send the item back, how can we further checked the item for the mentioned problem?! Please kindly arrange your item to send it back and I once receive the item, I will provide the full refund plus the actual shipping cost (marked on the envelope) to you.

Can anyone offer me any assistance. I have a Qualified individual who is willing to clarify on their own headed note paper that the player is below the specification claimed for it. Also i have the original auction information claiming that the location is Leighton Buzzard U.K not Hong Kong. Surely they should forward the shipping costs in advance to Hong Kong as I'm willing to post it to the specified location in the auction.

dillon533 , currently there are possibly 2 options to do.

1, send the player back with registered mail, chose the option that lets you receive the postage received notification.
However, you need the seller to agree to the postage method and to refund you the purchase price + postage to you + return postage.

2, refuse postage until the seller refunds all the amount (3 mentioned above). Escalate the dispute to a paypal claim, and forward the supporting evidence to paypal. And state that you will not send the player to any other countries besides UK, since the ad states the item was from UK.

Personally i would prefer with option 2. As with your strong supporting evidence, paypal might end up refunding your money with you not having to post the item back. The crucial point would be the false item location and your evidence.

i think i'll take option 2. To be honest i think the players are great i just don't appreciate being ripped off. What i want to happen is 50% of the money to be refunded on both the players i purchased as i recieved 50% of the capacity which i don't believe is an outrageous request, considering i've been mis-led not only the seller but also claims by ebay and paypal that their users are automatically protected from fraud.Which i find quite dis-heartening as 99.9%
of people are honest and buying and selling in good faith. Anyhow i shall keep you all informed of my progress. Thanks for the help

well finally got back to dealing with the complaint. (studying for my comptia)
Last night we escalated the claim via paypal on both players. Rather than messing about we said we'd accept a 50% refund as the players where 50% of the stated capacity. So we ended up with two players for £15.00 and £14.50. The refund was in the paypal account by this morning.
Overall I'm incredibly happy with the player. I also found it hand a pitch shift function so i can use it in conjuction with my decks.
Just as a final note thanks to lattesurf for the advice
Cheers

That's excellent news, because my seller's (e-britain) has a PO Box at the same post office:

Denny Chen, Wong Shuk Hing
Po Box 1225
Tsuen Wan Post Office
Hong Kong

Denny CHEN and WONG Shuk Hing may be partners, but they're surely partners in crime.

Here is a similar return address from 4GB scam MP4 player from e-britain:
Denny Chen
Wong Shuk Hing
P.O. Box 1225
Tsuen Wan Post Office
Hong Kong

I get this feeling that there is a large group of individuals with a bunch of Ebay accounts, all working together on these scams from an office in Hong Kong.
