I just won a 4GB fake from e-britain, will I be made to pay?

Hi Guys,

I just won a 4GB from e-britain, and silly me read the feedback after I won it. I have not paid for the item yet and i have 4.5 days left from the date of this post. Can I get out of paying 4 the item as the seller states "Unpaid dispute & the negative feedback will be filed to ebay for the non payable bidders."

After having a close look at the description as far as size goes I can only see 4GB listed not 4Gb.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....0460&rd=1&rd=1

What should I do, and will I be made to pay?

Thanks,
D

Hi Davidric, All listings on ebay.com.au or sales to Australia are subject to Australian laws. The Trade Practices Act forbid false or misleading advertising.
Email the seller and ask him to confirm the memory chip is 4GB and not a 1GB chip hacked to read as $GB. IF he refused to response, refuse to pay.
He will raise an "Unpaid dispute" with ebay BUT you have a right to response with the reason why you refuse to pay.

AT the VERY WORST, all you get is a negative feedback (for which you can post your reply) against you. Isnt this worst scenario better than buying a fake player that may crash on you anytime?

Cheers

davidric,
Just inform e-britian that since bidding on the item you have found him listed on various web sites as a seller of fake or hacked players and withdraw your bid based on this information.
Send him the following links:

http://www.xbox0.co.uk/

http://reviews.ebay.com/The-Official...00000002547758

Send the same message to eBay. You are not obliged to pay for the item if you believe that the trader is committing fraud and intends to deceive you as he has done so many others.

Yeah, if it was me, i'll just do as what tadad1 said and not pay a single cent.
Worst case ebay issues a strike on the account, but so what? i'd rather get a strike than to throw my money down the drain and get all the disappointment and frustration.

Re: I just won a 4GB fake from e-britain, will I be made to

Thanks Guys,

I have emailed the seller and am waiting for a response. Will keep you posted. Yes I believe I have been clearly mislead. He clearly states 4GB and not 4Gb.

I searched his neg feedback and it's full of users claiming to have been sold a 1GB player that was advertised as 4GB.

Should I post this link to ebay?
http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?Use...rn=Received+by

I also noticed after looking at http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/tp/unp...m-process.html the buyer can only respond to upaid item responce by
1. I want to pay now
2. I already paid
3. Communicate with the seller

Then if I choose 3, the seller has the power to give a Unpaid Item strike. There is no option to respond to ebay about this misleading FRAUD......

Thanks again Guys
