It seems most sellers dont know that the players are hacked, many do not test the products - many just act as a middleman between china manafacturer and consumer.... they do not actually test or check products.
The sellers have not hacked the players, THE MANAFACTURERS HAVE!

We should send emails to them explaining how to fix these players and giving them links to the software. If they dont listen, we then add to a new list of sellers who wont fix or stop selling. (Or noting on ebay page that capacity stated by OS is incorrect)

We could also provide a service on this site selling reformatted, updated software MP4s.... waddya say? If we did it for free, (buy, update, sell at same price), ebayers might love us!
Whilst I can SEE where you are coming from, as an Ebay trader myself with 100% fb - I would have to say no.

If a customer of mine has a problem, I do my best to resolve it with as LITTLE expense to the customer as possible.

The chap I bought the dodgey player off k-boxz, has done nothing but offer excuses and pretty much demanded that I do a return if I want my Money back - unfortunately PayPal is saying the same (what great buyer protection huh).

k-boxz INSISTS upon Insurance before shipping, after stating that Insurance is optional - and then cries when the customer has issues. These are not the actions of an honest and responsible trader.

IF you check the FB left for the greater majority of these Chipod sellers, it all follows the same pattern - I wish I had checked tbh before bidding.

If they were honest sellers, there would be little (or none at all) Negative FB - because they would have sorted out their customers problems to their satisfaction.

I purchased a Rizone 32Gb Mp3 player from mykay168. I got the player, had issues with it, checked around for solutions and stumbled across this forum. Since then I have checked my memory of my player, found it to be a hacked 3.7Gb. This is the stats that H2testw gave me:

Warning: Only 32755 of 32756 MByte tested.
The media is likely to be defective.
3.7 GByte OK (7802752 sectors)
28.2 GByte DATA LOST (59279488 sectors)
Details:28.0 GByte overwritten (58816367 sectors)
0 KByte slightly changed (< 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors)
226.1 MByte corrupted (463121 sectors)
63.5 KByte aliased memory (127 sectors)
First error at offset: 0x00000000ee1f0000
Expected: 0x00000000ee1f0000
Found: 0x0000000000000000
H2testw version 1.3
Writing speed: 15.3 MByte/s
Reading speed: 16.0 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

This is the player I bought.

I have signed the petition and would like mykay168 to be added to the blacklist please. She has other negative feedback for selling hacked flash. Thank you.

Wintersleeps,

I also bought the exact same player...mine was listed as 16GB. Running the H2testw now..it gave me a lot of problems and I think it's also actually 4GB.
Curious to know which seller you bought it from on ebay? I bought mine from intertrade-connection. Working with him to get my refund...

I bought mine from mykay168. I've tried repeatedly contacting her in regards to it, and have had no response back whatsoever. Let me know how your test goes. I've tried adding mp3 files to it (music) and they won't play at all. But I can play music videos with mine. The ebook function doesn't work either. Hopefully I will hear something back from the seller soon.

Mine works fine, just that the test revealed it only had 1.7GB of actual space available..big difference from 16GB. Aside from that and the sucky touchscreen it plays everything I've tried: mp3, m4a, avi, flv, mpg, txt, pdf, etc. But I opened a dispute with paypal and am also getting to the buyer. My plan is to be as persistent as hell until I get my money back

After reformatting mine and scrubbing the partition, mine works fine. I can only load 3.7 gigs max on it, anything more and it doesn't wanna work. But everything I have added to it after the format plays with no problems...I recalibrated the touch screen for a pointer (gotta love cheap crochet needles they work wonders). So far no issues with it. I haven't tried the pdf files yet...thats my next project lol. I've opened up a dispute with paypal also, and reported the gal to ebay for excessive shipping (49 bucks when hong kong PO says its only 8.75 usd to send it boxed & insured!) I don't plan on giving up with paypal either. I thought I was getting a namebrand 32GB mp3 (even if it was a chinapod) but instead got a 4 gigger. Oh well...Next time I will know better what to look for.

YES YES YES! I opened a strongly worded dispute with Paypal last night at 7PM, and received a 100% refund early this morning! I can't believe it. $35 right back in my account. So I got a 2GB touchscreen player completely free!

I don't care that it's crap..it was free. Would you tell me how you did the scrub so that it came up as it's true size? I've got linux so I have the partitioning tools on hand.

Open a strong dispute in paypal. Threaten negative feedback, cases with ebay, and publicity to other ebayers. It seems to get the message across well enough. Good luck!

Congrats on the payback. I'm still waiting to hear from mine. 5 more days and she defaults and paypal awards me anyway. As for scrubbing the partition, I did a dos format, I run windows vista, and it kept giving my explorer issues, so instead of formatting it the easy way (with tools or windows disk manager) I went in dos, scanned the player, found the partition, copied it off so it was safe, then I repartitioned it, gave it the correct format size of 4 gigs and then added back the hidden partition files which now makes it a 3.7gb player. Last night I added pdf ebooks to the player, they show up in explorer button, but won't open. The player now plays all my audio, even flac files (although they are large for the player and can take up the room of 5 normal sized songs). The videos I have added have all been AVM's, their the smallest, and specifically made for handhelds. One movie is approximately 250 MB (180-350MB range) so you can imagine how many full length movies I can get in 4 gigs lmao! Currently I've added 150 songs, and 12 movies and 3 music video's. I can live without the ebook function. Although it does display .txt format files with no problems. The battery lasts about 4 hours when fully charged. Nice thing is that my cell phone charger & car charger are the exact same voltage & plug type. So I am able to not only charge it on my computer, but at any outlet, in the car etc. I was reading a post about a guy that bought a quick charger on ebay for under 10 bucks, and he ran his mp3 off of that giving him a longer playing time. I might look into it and see about extending the battery when I am away from my laptop or a power source.
