wtf, why doesn't ebay ban them? o.O

Re: 59 eBay traders known to sell hacked players.

Please add
getcoolgadgets and hitekgear

Bought players from each of them and they are the same person and all were hacked to look like 2gb and were only 1 gb.

Then they play dumb as if they didnt know, 3 players are not a mistake that is a pattern

tadad1 26th Jan 2007 2:27 pm

gogirl37, If you can add the details to the petition that would be great.

DownloadJunkie 26th Jan 2007 3:35 pm

Re: 60 eBay traders known to sell hacked players.

hitekgear definitely needs to be added. I have two of his players, both were supposed to be 2G but are truly 1G. I have received no reply in the matter. Sent an email to eBay; no reply. I don't expect to hear from either.

Thanks for this information, it will save a lot of people from being ripped
off of their hard earned money! These people should not be allowed on
e-bay with their phoney junk. It's people like this that give the legitament
sellers a bad reputation even they are honest and don't deserve the negativity caused by the scammers. I' ll bet if anyone followed the trail
all the way back to China you'd find that most of these come out of the same factories, and that a lot of the sellers on e-bay are the same people using different names.

Re: 79 eBay traders known to sell hacked players.

I think that mr.mobiles comes up quite high on your most scammers list because he had coned over 77 different buyers before no longer being part of ebay and they did nothing about him. Not even reply to emails sent to them so much for protection against these people

eBay My World: digitexpert

Sold me a 4GB player that was really a 2GB. Ignores emails.

tadad1 8th Mar 2007 4:43 pm

AlbertaSatellite,
I am only listing sellers that appear on the petition and have received negative feedback re hacked players with 2 exceptions "mympxplayer" for obvious reasons and "tamainc" who has multiple entries for taking payment and not sending goods.

princessanne1026 8th Mar 2007 5:14 pm

taddad - thanks for updating the list. Might I add that keistore and keisquare are the same seller - keistore recently changed IDs. Also, I strongly disagree with tinydealdirect being on the blacklist. As I have mentioned elsewhere in the forum, I've received 4 nonhacked players from them, including a genuine 4gig. I found it strange that only 1 person put them on the blacklist and searching through all their negative feedbacks, I've only found 1 related to hacking. I'm sure with over 10000 feedbacks way more people would have complained if their players were hacked. They are honest businessmen.

tadad1 8th Mar 2007 7:03 pm

princessanne1026,

It would appear that the following eBay traders are all run by Tronfy Tech or Tronfy Technologies.

lowest_total_price
tinydealdirect
ygsm_mobiledigital
e-britain
factorypricestore
buy.mall!

Although as you point out there is only one negative feedback against tinydealdirect re hacked players, Tronfy's other accounts are some of the most prolific scammers on eBay totaling almost 100,000 sales. As such I have no problem blacklisting all of them.

Re: 103 eBay traders reported as sell hacked players.

Hi Admin,

Please add i-ProShop to blacklist.

Because CoolStuff_Onlinestore has changed name to i-ProShop. You can see 'recently changed name' tag on ebay .

Forensic 28th Mar 2007 9:12 pm

You can add SkyTower to the list. I purchased a hacked player. The battery was also pretty bad and didn't last long.

SkyTower are still trading, but no longer selling MP3's but are selling nintendo games only.

Hello: you can add xproarea as a bad seller.

I bought a 2gb MP4 and it has 1gb memory :x
Too bad I didn't know about this forum before I bought it.

Can you tell me of a GOOD seller? I want to buy another 2gb player.

Thank you!

azza87 3rd Apr 2007 4:05 pm

Re: 114 eBay traders reported as sell hacked players.

Hi, I think i may have just been ripped off! I won 3 auctions, all by the same seller thinking i was getting 3 great bargains. Then i found your forum and this topic and was godsmacked! The seller is claiming the mp4 players i have bought are 8GB but further into the auction i noticed it said this:

"# First GB playable & recordable * This is a compressed 8GB flash drive, the 8GB capacity is for storing data files only; the actual playable and recordable capacity is 1GB. "

These are the auctions i won:

BIDDING! NEW 8GB MP4 MP3 Player Video Movie REC FM PMP

BID! NEW 8GB MP4 MP3 Player Video Movie REC FM PMP 8G

BID! NEW 8GB MP4 MP3 Player Video Movie REC FM PMP 8G

Then if you look at this auction which is the same seller you notice he warns you about sellers selling hacked players with some info which makes you wonder about the ones i have purchased from him:

BID! NEW 1GB MP4 MP3 Player Video Movie REC FM + GIFT!

Should I Be Worried? I have emailed the seller asking about the players and have stated that if they are hacked i no longer want them, If he tells me they're not hacked and i find out when they arrive i will not be happy and will be putting a complaint in about him on both ebay and paypal but he is not replying to me.

What are your thoughts?

Many thanks in advance for any responses.

Azza87

tadad1 3rd Apr 2007 5:10 pm

azza87, There is no such thing as compressed memory, the 8GB ones are just hacked versions of his 1GB players. Even things like images etc will become corrupt in the so called "data storage" area. I would say "wholesale.center" is a new trading name for a well established crook who has built up a lot of negative feedback and getting ready to dump his old trading name.
I doubt you will hear from him unless you slap him with negative feedback which he will then do the same to you. Sorry but I would not expect much from PayPal either, they do not give a shit and the whole process with return shipment at your cost will be more expense. Let us know his email details if he does reply to you. We may need to setup a spamming campaign.

Sold as 2GB actually contains only one 1GB chip

Hi, Thanks for your help. As soon as i read your post i went straight to paypal and filled a complaint for each of the auctions. I have just got 3 emails from paypal saying the payments have all been refunded.

Thanks again!

Bad Seller List

Hi, I purchased two players from ultromall back in January. The players seemed fine at first but once I got beyond 60 songs and a couple of AMV's they stopped working. Informed seller, they kept giving me the run around wasting time so that it would be over 30 day warranty. By this time they were "not a registered user". They came back as cowmagasin. Again not long after were "not a registered user". I sent players back and asked for a refund. Had to open dispute with eBay to get refund. They kept telling me they couldn't issue refund because there account was limited. Finally, they miraculously found another account and issued full refund. This took over three weeks!!

zetabeta217 7th Apr 2007 10:30 pm

Re: 114 eBay traders reported as sell hacked players.

I purchased an mp4 player on ebay from red-vision, and come to find out the email address for the seller is ugoole@------.com

The item number is 290097674457. I'd like to know if anyone has bought this model, and if so is it just as busted as the rest?

tigertamer 9th Apr 2007 5:02 pm

add DIGITEXPERT to that list

you could add DIGITEXPERT to that list - they have multiple negative feedback describing false advertising, less memory than promised, and problems with the unit. (most of these negative comments are written in in spanish - maybe they can't read spanish and didn't catch those and negociate for a mutual retraction)

azza87 11th Apr 2007 7:57 am

Please add Aaliyah's Bargains to the bad sellers list.

Have just bought a 1GB player which turned out to be a 469mb player!

BSD 11th Apr 2007 5:54 pm

You can add "rapidstore" to that list. Advertised 4GB and turned out to be only 2GB (I checked the part number on the only memory chip installed).

i hate scammers 15th Apr 2007 3:06 pm

Re: 114 eBay traders reported as sell hacked players.

please add

play_mega

to that list

total rip off
terrible communication
tries to scam you for more money
to send another possibly non working player
buttons fall off
doesnt even work

scam scam scam

beware!!!!!

tekgal 17th Apr 2007 9:14 pm

Ive just been scammed i bought 2 players then I came across this info .......

Ive got a refund on one and have no response from a red - vison yet.

what a scam pretty much most of the sellers are doing it ...... and it seems so many ppl dont even realise as most of the feedback is good.

EBAY should ban them its rediculas

Xeron 19th Apr 2007 6:41 am

Re: 114 eBay traders reported as sell hacked players.

You should definitely add DIGITEXPERT to that list. I got a 4GB 1.8'' player, which is in fact 2GB (after reformating it). There are also other similar complains (negative feedback) about them.

Kinn 21st Apr 2007 4:52 am

Greetins from Germany. I also bought a MP4 player from ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWN:IT&ih=020

~62$

Well, had problems while copying music on it. So formated it and voila only 2GB available.
I contacted the seller:

"Dear ebox.store,

today I received the MP4 player. I wanted to copy my files to it => error
I had to reformat it with the format utility provided on the CD. After this it only had 2GB => the real capacity.

So, you obviously sold me a faked player.

This is unacceptable. "

His answer:

"This mp4 is combined with 2 pcs. 2GB nano flash and one of the nano flash may have improper format or reset (disk error) by vibration during the delivery. So, you can return to us with full refund or we give you partial refund GBP6.00 for the resulted 2GB. Please confirm if it is OK. Then we will send you the refund. Please contact us for the confirmation and arrangement

We will also leave you good feedback. Thanks a lot. "

ridiculous.

I contacted him an said I wanted at least 20$ back.

So, please add

ebox.store

to the list

Re: 114 eBay traders reported as sell hacked players.

you can also add dance_wilson (Sai Hoi Wong), from whom i ordered a 4GB player. he sent me a 1GB, asked me to take photoes of it from various angles and e-mail them "to make sure i am not a liar". then agreed to replace it. sent me a hacked 4GB----> only 2GB !!!. i opened a dispute on Paypal. the seller offered a full refund upon receiving the item again. NO GO i will not spend 2 times 10USD (20USD) on posting, and wait 3 months or more to get another hacked player.
SOB seller. got away with it. don't be fooled by his sweet-talk. he is a bastard.
Never buy from him. !!!!!!!!!!!!
