Default E-Britain, a.k.a UK@Store724, a.k.a cheaters-R-US

First off I thought I did a pretty good job doing research on this item. I had previously seen warnings about some MP3/MP4's coming out of Hong Kong, and thought I had a deal when I found a "deal" coming from a supposed UK store.

After winning my auction and submitted payment I received a confirmation email stating that the item which was supposed to be in the UK, was really coming from Hong Kong post. Well, I was pretty much having twinges of anxiety about the in-coming shipment, so I went back to the sellers ebay store and their feedback was all gone. I couldn't believe it, all 3321 or so replies were inaccessible. After this I was almost visibly shaken.. ..Well, to make a long story shorter, the item arrived on Friday 1/19/07 and lasted all of 5 minutes maybe before a "disc error" was displayed upon changing menus (eg. songs, pictures, radio, etc..) I immediately allerted the seller e-britain, and here's the exact response from mobile@store724.com which stated I was to "Hi, please format the player by your pc.(Please format by FAT, if do not have FAT, please use FAT32) and reload songs onto the player. please make sure that the songs you download are in MP3/WMA format.Thank you.

Please reply this mail directly, contain this original mail and do not change the subject. Otherwise your mail may not be handled in time. Thanks #HZ#
ops:  I've never been so embarrassed and infuriated at the same time. I requested a refund after finding I was not the only victim, and I opened a dispute with ebay and paypal. Oh, and after receiving the same exact lame message about formatting in "FAT", I submitted a claim. Guess what? Now there are no items at all listed for this seller, and you still can't read any feedback. I have been had, and now I want retribution. I am willing to pay shipping for this worthless paper weight (which now doesn't hold more than a 15 second charge) to go back. For more information on the item I purchased here's the "item URL http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...DME:B:AAQ:US:1

I also submitted a complaint with the Better Business Beureau www.bbb.org, but since this seller is not in the United States, I had to go through www.econsumer.gov. supposedly this organization will at least be able to aide CIA and FBI in tracking this type of fraud... I urge you to submit a complaint internationally as well...Lets get these scum bags.

Did you read my eBay guide before buying? I believe e-Britain is on the blacklist in there...

franksgreengirl - start a dispute with him, push for at least double the refund. He will come up with all kinds of lame excuses, but keep pushing for the refund because he scammed you.

Leave him whatever feedback you feel is right at the very last moment so he doesn't have the chance to leave you negative feedback like he did with me. I am keeping my negative feedback so that I can have a response to his libelous bull - by linking to this site.

If I can be arsed I might go to Squaretrade, but hey. I have had 100% positive feedback since Y2K, what's one negative feedback going to do?

Good luck!!

In the meantime format it and reload your files anyhow, this can actually clear disk error messages.
