I too got burned

I also unknowningly bought a Chipod. I was one of the lucky ones. Mine is really a 2 GB MP3 which isn't bad considering some of the stories I've read online. I got mine from a seller called ultromall. When I recieved it the CD was broken. This is the reply I received from him.

Dear friend
I'm sorry to heard that.
However,if the CD broken by man-made,I cannot send a new one to you.
Hope you can understand.
Sincerely / ultromall

I sent back an email 3 days ago saying I don't understand. I need the files. If anyone has the telephone file for this player I would appreciate it if they would upload it for me.

Ebay item number is 280069578493.

Thanks

Why, when you were sold a 2GB player instead of 4GB, did you just complain about the CD? I find a lot of things in that ad a bit hard to swallow. Ex., he claims superior "65,000" color LCD. Anyone see a chpod with less than 65,000 LCD? I haven't. Anyway, d/l AMV player utiliites, which contains the converter & mp3 format util, and the telephone util from the software forum here, that's all you need, you dont need the cd.
For the price you paid, he should have been happy to supply one. (My Chinglish --> English translator is saying that he is telling you: "If you broke the CD, we are not responsible".

If you want to make an issue of it, then tell him this, he'll understand:

"CeeDee not brakey human, sellperson make brakey".

That will let him know that you are not responsible for the breakage.

Re: I too got burned

I have d/l most of the programs from here and they work fine. The one I'm having a problem with is getting the telephone program to work. I have gone in with a hex editor to change the one record that is included. I think there is some kind of a symbol that is needed to indicate a new record as I can't add any.

Thanks for the information about the disc. I have contacted the seller not only about the disc but also about how it's only 2 gig instead of 4. I don't know why, but for some reason he isn't replying.

What I need from the CD is the telephone book file. The ones I get here don't seem to work.

Thanks.

Through the use of a hex editor I have been able to create a phone book. t's a royal pain in the @$$.

The problem with the editors on here is the header is wrong. For some reason this device looks for it's own header.

It sure would be nice if someone has a Chipod like mine and would send me the telephone program.

Thanks.

Whaoo! a link to your chinglish <--> english dictionnary would be very much appreciated! I'm much impressed how comfortable you seem with their strange language. Here is a sample from a 22 pages long user's manual I got with my chipod a single line of which I cannot make the barest sense.

"4.2.2 Broadcast the interface manifestation:
the knife man - impulsive punishment: broadcast the level is smooth to roll over."

maybe the printer mistake the guide booklet with some law manual? still it does not help much...

Would you help michiganfrog, the GREAT MASTER OF CHINGLISH: Only "grow the press button", which comes again and again finally made sense to me: it seems in China plants grow towards the bottom: so read "grow the press button"= depress, push down ! in some sense they are right, if it grows, the roots should do the same in some ways. Best, Kerdu.

Thanks Dave I got the file and it works good. I had to do some editing as the phone and mobile were backwards. Didn't take long to change that.

Thanks again. Muchly appreciated

Tom
