Default Paypal farce

Here's the latest message from Paypal. Names have NOT been changed, the guilty can kiss my a$$ (buy.mall!)

"Seller's Name: wong wai ming
Seller's Email: ebaysalehk@yahoo.com.hk

We have determined that you may be eligible for a refund on this PayPal
transaction. To qualify for a refund, please return the item received to
the seller in the same condition in which it was received. (You are
responsible for postage and packing costs for the returned merchandise.)
The amount you will be eligible to receive is determined by the terms of
our buyer protection policies, and we may be unable to make a full recovery
of your payment from the seller. Please review the buyer protection
policies in our User Agreement before returning the item to the seller.

Hmm, so let's see... they want ME to pay for shipping to return a fraudulent item to the seller, so I can maybe get what I originally paid back, but probably less... So I'm well-and-truly out of pocket, and have no player... riiiiiight...

And that's only the GOOD news. Did you read the part about the $25US deduction? IF your seller does not have the buyer protection plan, payscampal takes a deductible for processing your case. Then, you could pay to have it returned, and pay for a 3rd party to verify it to paypal's standards, and still not get any money back simply because your seller has (smartly) not left his money in his payscampal account.

The bottom line, these sellers are scammers. So they usually empty their paypal account a few times a day, to prevent paypal from recovering the money.

So if you sent it back and there is no money in their account, you're screwed! No refunds + Return postage + No player!

God knows if paypal would attempt to debit your paypal account for USD$25 processing fee. So you might end up paying Purchasing Price + Shipping + Return Postage + USD$25 + No Player!

Try to demand a partial refund, that's the safest way to prevent all the problems.

I had a similar experience with Paypal.

I won my dispute, only to find that, in the end, I would be out almost as much money as I paid for the player if I returned it.

With Paypal's so called buyer protection, you are better off throwing money out your window - at least the found money would make someone happy.

My Paypal experience with these mp4's:
