Default Beware! disubs, tronicshop88 and others

Two weeks ago I bought a 2GB MP4 player from disubs on Ebay. After that, I read all your horror stories. I was lucky, I received a 2GB one in 6 days. It's not perfect but I'm satisfied.

Before receiving it I ordered 2 x 4GB players from tronicshop88. I received two hacked players. They are only 2GB. I was able to format them back to 2GB with the low level format of MP3 Player Utilities.

After that I searched for "4GB mp4 player free ship" on Ebay and found several suppliers with the same title and almost the same HTML page for the description. Here is the list I found :

0.01 Bid 4GB REC FM USB MP4 MP3 Player Free Ship ! DEO4
digitexpert (1293) 99.1%

4 GO Free Ship 4GB FM USB MP4 Lecteurs MP3 Player JKO4
josephexpress (130) 99.2%

4 GO Free Ship 4GB FM USB MP4 Lecteurs MP3 Player AVO4
avmallexpress (166) 98.8%

Free Ship 4 G 4GB I FM MP4 Lecteurs MP3 PLAYER Pod SAO4
disubs (2130) 98.2%

They sell the same player I received from tronicshop88. You see in the title that there is a code at the end and it identifies the sellers. IMHO they are all the same seller and he uses the code at the end to know from each supplier the order come from.

I asked tronicshop88 a refund that is more than the difference I paid for the 2GB one from disubs (10$ USD difference) cause the fake 4GB have a smaller screen. I'm waiting for their answer. If they don't do it fast I will ask a refund to Paypal.

I'm dealing with them now. Before even bidding I asked them if they were 4GB players and not 2GB players hacked. I also let them know I would leave negative feedback if I got a 2GB player.

Now that I've called them out.
(They've offered me $6.99, then $8, and now $10, each time saying thats the most they could refund.)

Dear Sir/Madam,

So sorry for any inconvenience caused.
The price of the player is not only the memory storage, also the parts of player itself.
The max we can do for you is partial refund as US $6.99 to you. Otherwise, we suggest you to send it back to us for a full refund, and we'll check it personnally.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Please feel free to contact us for enquiry.

My response....
I'll take the $6.99 refund. However, you know you are being fraudulent and most ebay members aren't smart enough to figure out you are selling hacked players.

Nevermind, disregard the refund. $7 is ridiculous. If, I don't receive a $15 refund I will leave negative feedback, plain and simple. You know you are selling 2GB players marked as 4GB players.

Their response....

Me again....
That does not excuse you from selling a 2GB player as a 4GB player. It is fraud. You know this. The $6.99 you offered only covers shipping. It does not cover any of the price of the player. You know very well that you are selling hacked players and negative feedback is being left as I type this.

You went back on your word. Offering a $6.99 refund on a $45 item is 15%. I can't believe you honestly think that the difference in memory chips between a 4GB player and a 2GB player is 15%. Negative feedback is being left now.

Their response

My response
The refund will not change my feedback which has already been placed. Nothing short of a $15 refund will change my feedback. I understand you as a lower employee are limited however, this does not excuse the company you work for from selling hacked MP4 players.

I was informed by your company that the MP4 player "really is 4GB". After that email I clearly stated if the player was not 4GB I would leave negative feedback. I consider this email exchange finished unless I am offered a $15 refund.

Have a good day.

Well
I only dealt with digitexpert.
I bought a legit 1.8" 2GB FMP, for 45 AUD(including shipping)
It wasn't hacked, I checked it visually and though format.
Altough there was no box, It was OK.
The only problem is the battery, It lasts only about 2 hours.
Other than that no problems.
As I have not dealt with others...

And a INTERESTING discovery.
There was also a invocie included from a different company(http://www.foryoumedia.com.cn)
The ebay sellers probably use dropshipping.
The price on the invoice was 9 EURO!!!

The players I received from tronicshop88 were only 2GB instead of 4GB. The screen was 1.5" (don't know the resolution).

I bought one week before a 2GB player with a 1.8" screen (160x120) and it works fine. It was from disubs even if people seems to not like him here. I payed this one only 31.01$.

I payed the faked 4GB players from tronicshop88 at 41.36$ and 43.99$. I asked a refund of 13$ and 15$ cause they are not as interesting as the 31.01$ one.

BTW. Never take the insurance option with these sellers. They are shipped the same way and I received them both the same day even if I took the insurance option on only one. I had to sign for both of them.

The seller tried to answer me stupidities like trying to press different buttons and rebooting it. I answered him that there was only one 2GB memory chip in it and doing anything will not make appear another chip by magic. He offered a refund of 3$ and 5$ or a complete refund if I send it back. The seller know that sending it back will cost me a lot (I learned from the post office that it would cost me around 40$ each to get a tracing number). Regular mail is 6$ but I won't get a tracing number and Paypal asks for one.

I'm not really good in Englsh but I really understood nothing about his answers :

"But , if somebody bid item by low price , i do know what i can do .
I would like to try my best to meet your demand . Please have an understanding for me . i will deeply appreciate your kindness.
If you agree that you can send it back for full refund ."

Since Paypal only needs a tracing number, I can send something back to the seller and maybe (I insist on MAYBE) the box will not contain what it should? I will also save on the shipping cause I can send both item in the same box.

I'll let you know what happens.

I am pretty sure I have seen this address before, associated with e-britain. Someone should pay "Edmond" a visit, and lay a beating on his ass.

Here are my latest problems with Tronicshop88.

I tried to give him a negative feedback on Ebay but I received a message stating he wasn't a registred user anymore.

I asked a refund with Paypal and it was granted but I had to get a proof that I sent it. The address I had to send it to was :

Flat 2, 28/F Kwai Him Hse
Tai Wo Hau
N.T.
Hong Kong

I found it pretty strange that there was no name and when I tried to get a quote from UPS to ship it they told me this address was invalid. Since he wasn't registred with Ebay anymore, I wasn't sure to get a refund anyway. So I told Paypal that the address was invalid and they are now "trying" to resolve the situation.

I went back on Ebay today and was able to give him a negative feedback. It seems he is back and selling lots of stuff so beware.

Just to make me even happier, one player stopped working and I have a "Disk Error". The solution there is here for dead players doesn't work.
