Refund from chowkitm!
I recently purchased what was advertised as an '8GB FM REC USB MP4 MP3 Player' from chowkitm (Chow Kit Mei) before finding this site. When I ran into problems trying to stick anything on it over about 128Mb I decided to do some investigating and ran through the reformat tutorial. As you can guess, its partition table/MBR had been hacked and was really only 2GB.
Anyway, as a long shot I made a claim through PayPal after not receiving any replies to email. Within a day my partial refund of £15 was agreed! I can only guess that he is making so much money from these that he didn't want to empty and close down his PayPal account just yet. He did have the gall to ask me to withdraw my Ebay feedback though, even though he still has 144 of these exact same fraudulently advertised devices for sale. A real shame as I actually really like the device and would have happily paid the same amount for a 2GB one from a trusted source.
I guess my point is that you should put in a claim with PayPal, even if you think it might lead nowhere. You could be pleasantly suprised like I was.
