Just got scammed by CWAKECO
 

I'm new here.

I just bought a 4g mp4 player from CWAKECO on eBay.

The shipping envelope has Genetix Distribution for the return address label. Go figure.. Genetix is on the petition as a scammer.

I paid 60.00. And I'm pissed.
Any advice on how I can get my money back, or screw this dude over. Would be appreciated. Thanks-

I'd start by filing a dispute with Paypal. I got a full refund that way, although others haven't been so lucky. If the seller wants you to ship him the player at YOUR cost, I would refuse. Most likely you will never see your money or another player again.

If he opens communications with you thru Paypal, I would recommend asking for a partial refund and keeping the player. Find out what the 512mb players like it are going for and tell him you want most of your money back.

Many sellers offer full refunds for you removing the negative feedback. It's up to you whether you want to go that route, but for me personally, I wouldn't. I'd rather lose the money and nail the S.O.B. with negative than let him blackmail me. If you do keep the negative up, most likely he will retaliate by leaving you negative.

before send to customs,we will check the item that factory supply us
the way for example 2G,we format it by Fat,,if it show 2G on screen,step we transfer 2GB file to the mp4 ,then near the full,we transfer samll files like mp3,we try listening mp3.if it can work well,it ture 2GB

The seller's response is a load of rubbish. It's going to cost you to send the player back. Will they cover that?

Whatever you decide, remember to leave NEGATIVE feedback for it so others can be warned next time. But don't do it until you have received your replacement or refund.

Absolute total lying crap.

If you feel adventurous, open the player and look for the flash chip. These are often marked SAMSUNG. Note the number on the chip, do a Google search for that number. Or post the number here and I will check out the capacity.

I was going to check the card. But the screws were so small that I kinda stripped two of them. So I stopped trying to open. I am going to send it back today. I am also gonna pay more and send it with delivery conformation. After I get my refund (hoprfully). I'm going to email him back and demand my shipping be rembursied as well. You should of read the email I sent him in the begininng. I think I scared him. Ha. I'll keep you guys posted. O' and heres an idea. Is there any way to start a class action lawsuit against eBay and Paypal for turning a blind eye to this scam? I'd sign up!

Well, I received my refund in full today. I think the satellite photographs of the sellers home helped! :twisted:
Anyways, I'm on a mission to spread the word about these hacked players.
It was a very frustrating ordeal. And I'm still out 5.65 I paid for return shipping. CWAKECO is by my assumption and OPINOIN one of the larger scammers. It's obvious he has changed his eBay id at least once. How many times has he got away with it?
I think I'm going to write a letter about this whole ordeal. And send it to everyone that has purchased one of these players from him. I made a list.
O' and did anyone see the eBay listing that exposes this scam? The dude keeps it going from People bidding a buck! Hell, I might do one to!

Glad you made progress and got a refund. I would imagine not a lot of people would go through all the effort you have. So you can imagine how much money the scammer has made from this already.
