Re: Lotsall
Mine should be arriving any day now. I'll let you know for sure, but I haven't seen anything negative on them except shipping times.
|
Re: Lotsall
That would be nice :D
Ps. the shipping takes 25-DAYS..!" |
Re: Lotsall
I'm at 23 days and counting. They have been really good about communicating with me though and they were up front about the shipping time on the item description.
I receive an email about every 5 days saying how many days ago it was sent and to keep a watch for it as it should be arriving any day now. :D |
Re: Lotsall

|
Re: Lotsall

Re: Lotsall
Hi, all.
Just got my player from them yesterday. They had been incredibly helpful the whole way through the process. I'd ordered the overly expensive EMS delivery, and after an initial scare (the item was improperly declared and held at Chinese Customs), the item shipped on 3 July and arrived here in the US on 6 July. So maybe the extra $10 was worth it, eh? The player is great. Bright screen, decent interface, good video playback. My only issue is it is incredibly picky about the specifics of the video file. My other MPx player has a bit of give, so I guess I'm spoiled, but over half of the videos I put on it don't work. And yes, they play on my other one which is also a RockChip player. Oh, and it looks dang sexy. Player was listed as "#Brand New MP3,Mp4,MT29 Black,2.4" TFT,FM,4GB~~" It really is quite sharp. Looks a lot like the Optimus X at MP4Nation or the Vista at UXcell. And that had me worried as neither of those have a 4GB model. that capacity is reached by using a mini SD card stuck in the thing. A slot my auction did not list. Well, the slot's there, and empty. The box was marked "4GB", but the player inside was marked as "2GB", and that's what it was. Not hacked, just a mislabled box. These things do happen and the test is in how it's handled They have been incredibly helpful up to this point, so I wrote them to ask what I could do. I didn't lay blame or get irate like many of the folks here, instead I thanked them for their service and mentioned that it looked like their supplier had given them some bad product. To their credit, they checked some of the other stock and reported that they had found a few more like that. Right now we are talking options, but since they are quite literally a world away, it takes days to have a conversation. |
Re: Lotsall
Thanx for the info NOLA MPx Fan !! :P
Yeh they have great service:) |
DeSuzY, I'm going to be interested in knowing if there was another "mistake" with your player. If so it would indicate a deeper problem with them, especially since yours shipped well before mine.
Here's hoping it's isolated as I really could see myself buying a few more as gifts. |
Re: Lotsall
hehe, i wanted yet recvied it :( hope it comes soon:)

Re: Lotsall
Hi, received mine and it is also a 2gb player. I'm inclined to believe this is an honest mistake. Their responses to my email don't seem in keeping with what I've read of scammers.
First, it read 1.89gb when I plugged it in and before I did the partition slide and Lotsall told me to format it again to make sure. Most of the posts I've regarding scammers tell them not to format. Second, they offered a full refund INCLUDING shipping and handling. Instead of a refund minus shipping and a restocking fee. Third, of course is the partial refund, which is probably what I'll take as overall, I like the player. I've put their name in at Toolhause and the only thing that really comes up is the incredibly slow shipping and their bluetooth headsets being knockoffs not the factory ones. Of course, I could be wrong. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now. |
Hey, boo.
What model/version was yours? If it's two of the same, then yeah, I think they got a bad buch from their supplier. You ar absolutely correct. They actually asked me to format the device. Any other scammer I've seen is adamant that formatting will ruin the toy. I really like this one. Even if it is only 2GB. It was a bit picky on the format of the .avi files, but once I sorted that out, it's great. I have another one that has a built in NES/SNES/GBA emulator, but this one I think I like even better. |
Re: Lotsall
hmm,, which mp4 did u buy?? nano clone or that NOLA MPx Fan has?? i ordered nano clone..! some one left a feedback and said
"4gb capacity as stated, great communication, A1 seller would deal again ++++++++" guys how many days did the shipping took?? |
I anted up for the express shipping. Took three days! But I live in a hub for commercial transport so it was only a plane ride away once it got to San Francisco.
Looking at the interval between folk's auctions and their feedback, it looks like 3-4 weeks is not uncommon. Hang in there! And yes, I saw a couple feedbacks for my item as well that confirmed the capacity. Another reason I think they were taken by their supplier. |
Re: Lotsall
Mine is the Brand New MP3,Mp4,MT26 White,2.0" TFT,USB 2.0,4GB. Looks like the Icelander at UX Cell except it doesn't have the SD card slot.
I had a note from the mailman to pick up my package at the post office. This was on Friday, so 25 days. |
Can i ask one thing?? how many $ did they offer as partial refund, ?
|
$5, but I only paid $13 for it so that isn't too bad. I'm thinking about giving it as a gift anyway and the difference between 2 and 4gb isn't going to matter to her.
|
Ok, so the info I gave you in the other thread may be wrong. My screen size (2.4") was a resolution of 320x240. Your 2" might be different.
And it's a different type. I'm beginning to get a bit skeptical that it was a bad batch. But I guess it is possible that one of their suppliers did start playing a bit loose with the actual specs, as I'm seeing a sudden lack of auctions for my particular type player. And yours as well. Both are by the same company "MDE", if I'm not mistaken. Mine had a model name of "MT29" on the box. Tours is "MT26". So maybe that particular company went bad? Must think this over. |
OH, hey. Now your post about wanting a white Meizu comes into focus! Yours is the model that looks like one ;-)
Yeah, they offered me the same. I think I'll take it. The price I paid was in line with a similar 2GB model offered elsewhere. Five bucks off is just fine with me. ...and no, I won't be signing the petition. These guys have been going strong for 9 months and genuinely seemed shocked that the item was not 4GB. I'm going to get the mini-screwdrivers out tonight and see if maybe it's a bad chip. |
Re: Lotsall
they gave me the reatlier of the mp4 player and site was full of virus bwt they warned me before 8)

Not at all, I agree.
Their new listings are up for today, and I see your model, but none of mine. Makes me think they may actually have tried their stock of mine and found them all lacking. So...how's the new toy working for you despite the memory issue? I almost went for that model, myself. What's the resolution on it? 320x240 or something smaller? DeSuzY: yeah, the site is not a great place. From what I can tell, most of it is collecting tracking info. Needless to say, when my work PC gave me that warning, I waited until I could fire it up on my Macintosh at home. Nothing really useful there, actually. The folks at the other end of the email are much better. And that was the other reason I was willing to fork over the extra for EMS shipping: a tracking number! I knew when it entered and left customs on both sides of the ocean, when it left SFO, and when it arrived in New Orleans for delivery. Expensive? Yes, but knowing it was on the way and where it was was almost worth it. Even though it was more than the player! |
It works fine. The resolution is 220x176. It has a decent speaker built in. It's a sharp looking little player. If it would have been 4gb, I probably would have kept it for myself. As it is, I have a 4gb chipod that I'll keep. Looks like my mom will be the lucky owner of this little beauty. 2gb is plenty of space for her. 8)
|
Yeah, this one was to be a gift, too. But with the mini SD slot, I can pretty much have a 4GB, 8GB, 20GB or whatever size as long as I buy a card.
My other player, which came in about a week ago looks like it will soon be on its way to my mother. It's a bit bigger physically, so she might actually like that one better. |
Re: Lotsall
Hope i recive my mp4 soon:) its a chipod:=)
|
Re: Lotsall
booboo773 did u get tracknumber from them?
|
That only comes with the most expensive shipping option. I don't think booboo went that way as the shipping time was >20 days on that player.
|
No tracking number. It did come registered air mail, so if you're not home, the mailman will leave a note to come pick it up at the post office. Had to show my ID and sign for it.
|
Hmmm. Lotsall looks good. I may have to order my Chipods from these guys. I sent them an email asking about combined EMS shipping on 2 of them, which might make it more affordable.
|
kevx, the player I purchased is a solid little device. I'd do it again.
And as you can see, the support from them has been quite good for a Shanghai dealer on eBay. Even when it showed up mislabeled, they remained professional, actually asked me to reformat the thing to be sure, and then offered to refund not only my purchase but shipping and return shipping if I felt I needed to return it. I have to say, I'd recommend them at this point. And I highly recommend the extra for EMS. Delivery within a week from China? Sold! And even at that, it was cheaper than either of the other identical players I looked at (Optimus X from MPXNation and one from Campus111). For an iPod/iTunes fanboy to gush about a <$60 total player it must be OK, though I'll keep my two 3G iPods for music, thank you very much ;-) |
Thanks, NOLA MPx Fan. They sound like pretty honest people. Guess I'll buy 1 for me and 1 for the wife.
|
Re: Lotsall
Well they gave me an tracking,i did not choose ems i choosed also airmail. But still cant track becuze in the chinesse post site u cant track from china to sweden some weird problem they siad
|
You should be able to track it at EMS through Chinese customs, then. at least here, the same number worked on the US Postal Service website. So maybe try entering the number directly into the carrier it will be using in Sweden? Once it enters Swedish Customs, that number should show up on their site, I'd think.
kevx: sure, no problem. |
Thanxx, Nola MPX FAN:):d
|
my pleasure.

I've just concluded an autopsy and wanted to let folks what kind of memory I found:
There are, indeed, two chips. First is a 2GB Samsung chip. The other is a Hynix chip, and seems to be a 64Mb (yes, megabit) chip. So instead of four gigabytes divided among two chips, I got one 2GB chip and a 4 megabyte one. So unless that Hynix chip is doing something else, this player does have room for 4GB and I just got a bad one. |
Hey, come on guys and gals, this is listed as a 4gb player. It is a 2gb player. Whether it has a card slot or not has nothing to do with it. The price for a 2GB card (TF?) is another $20. This is also a very experienced seller and I find it hard to believe they were scammed. Even if they were scammed, it doesn`t give them the right to pass the scam on to Ebayers who are parting with their hard earned cash, they should take it up with the supplier.
Dont want to offend anyone here, just my opinion. |
Actually, they are.
At least that's what their communications with me after they offered to pay to have it shipped back to China indicated. Yes, they offered to pay for the return. Up front. Along with the refund. They also pulled all the listings for that model after I contacted them. They are back now. As noted, my box was marked 4GB, but the player inside the sealed original box was marked 2GB. I guess they could open every one, but that seems like it would generate more issues than it solves. And, yes, dealers are charging that much for the miniXD option. Here's a model that is identical to the one in question with exactly that markup: http://www.mp4nation.com/products/index.php?PID=mp8276 So yes, I took that as somewhat of a common charge. Going from 2 to 4 GB on a site like UXcell costs 15-18 dollars a pop. And that's for a chip on the board. Not a removable card. My opinion, of course. ;-) |
I certainly dont want to offend anyone here, I was just urging caution as it sounded like the scam where players were being sold with two memory chips, one of which was not what it was meant to be. Maybe it would be possible to identify the Hynix chip.
|
Well, whatdayaknow!
I have yet to get all the tiny bits back where they belong, so teh player is open and right in front of me. hy57v641620etp-7 That's the number on the Hynix chip. It does strike me as a bit odd to use two makes, especially as they have different form factors. The 2GB Samsung has the leads coming off the short ends, while the Hynix has them along the long edges. I just can't see that as a good engineering position, but I'm looking at it right now! |
