dana.rack "NO LONGER A REGISTERRED USER"
At last Ebay have stopped the scam operated by dana.rack on Ebay.co.uk.
The seller had been listing and selling hundreds of items a day, mostly 8GB MP4 players as well as high capacity memory cards and USB drives. The seller only accepted payment by postal order, cheque or direct bank transfer, there was no Paypal option. This went on for 5 or 6 days despite warnings given to Ebay about 1 Items going for a price that was below cost in many cases, on top of which the seller was giving free shipping. 2 False Ebay registerred contact details, different from the address given to send payment. 3 Ebay informed as to the link between the seller and mr.mobiles and tommy-jones-smithy. I am not sure that Ebay would have stepped in if there had not been a big run of negative feedback last night after I left three negs in a row for items I had won before knowing who the seller really was. Luckily I had managed to get a full refund by threatening him with the Police but the feedback option was still available to me. For your interest the Paypal refund came from jhaas@gmail.com with a company name of Global Mobile Ltd. The seller had claimed that this was a friend. I have my doubts. On the last day the seller had changed the address for payment to the PO box used in the tommy-jones-smithy scam wheras origonally it had been a shop in Scotland Road, Read, Burnley. Maybe he had got a bit concerned about showing up at his shop for fear of angry Ebayers. or worse, the Police. I have informed the Police, but whether there is a case only the future will tell. ONE LESS SCAMMER!!!! |
This raises another question, if this guy was doing this about a month ago, how come Ebay have not taken any legal action against him and did not act immediately when informed about the link?
It beggars belief!!! |
Because of one word Rob: Profit.

Just done a check on Goofbay on the seller history:-
eBay Seller History Tool Summary Seller: dana.rack Total Value Sold: £23529.42 Items Sold: 77.93% Total Value Not Sold: £137.40 1617 results found Started selling On the 21Aug, 200 of the total is for 30p sim cards to get a reasonable Positive Feedback total. £23,000 in a week and all in postal orders, cheques and bank transfers |
That's awful. It may not turn out to be that much after all the negative feedback. Some buyers might not have sent payment or put a stop payment on it when they read the feedback.
Still, if it's even half that... |
Right now I'm having a similar problem with ebayer "techglobal."
DO NOT buy anything from them. They're selling 1gb miniSD sticks as 4GB sticks. Look through their pages of reviews and they have a 98% approval, and a ton of withdrawns. Why? They use their power status to bully people into withdrawing negative feedbacks. People that they've scammed keep sending me messages because they're not sure what to do. I've sent ebay several messages that seem to go into a black hole. When it comes to reporting scammers, ebay doesn't really want to hear it I guess. I've logged a claim against them through paypal, so I expect that to get further than 'IdiotBay.' |
Hi apallohadas, I`ve just looked and they dont have any items for sale and they have made their feedback private. Ebay really couldn`t care less about buyers. It`s a business, and they wont make money by stopping people listing. Was there any clue in the listing that they were only 1GB?

I`ve just found the items on Goofbay, the more I see that site the better I like it, Goofbay that is. Well there is no clue as to the reduced size of the card. What I would do is contact as many of the people scammed as possible and complain under the "item received not as described" complaint, but I would do it soon. I think there may be another issue here, we are assuming that Ebay know what we are talking about with terms like "compressed memory" but I am not sure they have a feckin clue.

Yeah, I'll start cutting and pasting the dissatisfied responses and put that in another message to ebay.
Not that they've answered any of the OTHER emails. |
If I were you I would encourage the other people scammed to do it individually, I have a feeling that there may be more effect if complaints come from a lot of individuals over a short period of time.
