Ripped off by Nowplay.co.uk aka zappies.co.uk
I ordered a g6 for my daughters nintendo ds from Nowplay.co.uk with the hope to use some of the media player functions in the cart.
After 26 days still no sign of it. The company does not respond to e-mails or answer the phone. Typing the shop name into a search engine reveals a lot more people who have been ripped off by these people. They also trade as zappies.co.uk. Please steer well clear if you ever come across them, you will lose your money. Got through today to nowplay, gave my details and the got hung up on. This is the second time this has happened. :x |

I can see that their VAT No. GB887 7522 64 is the same on both sites. Can you not notify the police about it? Or trace it back to the company name based on the VAT No? I bet you if you threaten them about going to going to the POLICE about it, I think you might get a reply. Hopefully you make some progress on it. Keep us posted. |

It's pretty expensive over at supercardstore. An R4 for DS costs about $60, whilst at dealextreme it costs almost half the price at $36.

I used Zappies as a supplier and yes I have been ripped off by them as well! If you would like to give me further details to contact you if you wish to continue trying to get your money back of them. We are proceeding with charges towards late payment "refund" of wrong goods and will take them to court to get our money back. We did leave it for some while just phoning and being polite but they will not answer there emails or phones anymore (suprise suprise). Just a note for you. Vat numbers can not be used for 2 company names that is only registerd in one sole company name. I am sure the inland revenue will love that one :wink: :wink: |
I've had the same problem and got the cockney dodger on the phone a few times.
I have today sent them a court issue form and given them 7 days before i walk to my local court and issue on zappies. i sent my letter to both nowplay and zappies giving them notice of my intentions with a copy of emails i have sent them and the printed invoice. i'll give you an update once i have received a response. if they do not reply i will issue on 28th and should they not resposd will be asking the district judge to enter judgement against the registered company and seeking an enforcement warrant for a bailiff to visit them for my cash. power to the people!!!!!! |
It's now the 28th and no money back into my account.
I called nowplay and the guy said, "yeah received the letter, i'll do it now' at midday and nothing happened. I'm gonna send my claim form to the court today. will keep you updated! |
After a final call, was informed that Zappies were closing nowplay down and they would issue me with a refund within 30 minutes....!
didn't have much hope but low and behold, after 1 month a refund was given. lets hope this site disappears and it's owner gets a serious slap from consumer regulation authorities. PM me if you need help in tackling these con artists and i suspect the rely on customers letting them off for an easy life. |

I have also had problems with this website. I have been calling them lots of times, always receiving silly excuses but today, after exactly two months I have finally received a refund. I must say I had to a shout at them, but after all this time of waiting (when they said it would only take between 7 and 10 working days), I lost my temper. Every time I phoned them they would take my name and reference number but for nothing. What they really need for the refund is the WorldPay's/PalPay's transaction ID. I gave it to them and before the phone conversation was over I had received an email with the refund.
I never got a reply from my emails and they even pretended they couldn't hear me on the phone. Sometimes, the would put me through Account but no one would pick up the phone (surprise!). They were taking the piss out of me!! And I said exactly this to the man on the phone. I told him I had found in the internet people complaining about their website and I even read to him some of these complains. Have anyone realised that in the website when they said it has closed there is a number missing in their phone number? It shows only 0208 133 616 when the real number is 0208 133 6151. |
