You declared that, your player has hacked memory, but that's not true. You should accept it. If you don't know, what is the hacked memory, that's quite hard to believe, you know all about Coby. Oh, you have received an e-mail from them, so you know everything. Do you believe that? Btw, incompatibility... Think it again, please! Your player can't play some files, but Winamp can play them from the same place, so you use the same memory in both case. Is this a hacked memory in your opinion? Jesus! The format of your mp3 files can be incompatible with the player. If your player would be hacked, you could use the half (or less) of the full capacity. One more question: Did you try to use another USB cable? One more example: Once upon a time, some guys on eBay began to sell 8GB Meizu miniplayers, when that didn't exsist on the market. At that time, people at Meizu's customer support told that: There's no 8GB Meizu on the market. At a later time, the 8GB Meizus were launched by official sellers too.

The one who said that the chip is hacked wasn't me, but our admin who created a shortcut here for my thread!

But... hacked or not I don't care! This is the tipical situation with chinese ebay mpx... files becaming corrupt etc...

And I can assure you that selling a product that a brand does not make is a crime... so I want a refund full stop!

He refund me first and then I send the brick back... no problems...

Yes, we are talking about 4GB and these players have real 4GB memory. But, what is Chinese mpx? China makes branded and unbranded, outstanding quality and poor quality players too.

I'm talking about the 90% fakes on ebay!

You're lucky that all yours 20 players had 4gb! My player stress AKA corrupt my files if I put more than 2gb

I know that. They all are Actions chipset players. I'm not lucky (I bought many hacked players and restored them before reselling), just experienced. You can buy Actions based players with always real memory from dailywin.

Hi bencebacsi,

Yes, that was me with the topic change. I changed the subject so it reads more obvious from the beginning.

I think it's good that you got 20 pcs which have verified 4GB of memory. That's not to say that the rest of the players are good fine as well. There is the possiblity that digital-e.hk got ripped by the guy who is selling the memory and decided to sell him hacked memory instead? Perhaps there is the possiblity that the memory is faulty/corrupted....? There are a few possiblities.

It does sound highly suspecious that files do work then don't work later. WordsVsPain has tried formatting the memory as well as trying to fix the bad sectors but have the same result. It's hard to say 100% exactly what the problem might because because we don't have the player there.

Let's see how this folds out.....

You're going against eBay's policy. Your dispute will close without a refund, if you don't provide the tracking number of your shippment. You have to send back the item first, to receive the refund. If you think so, that's not lawful, I'd like to tell you another story. I won a GPS receiver on eBay at a Chinese seller a month ago. this seller advertised free ship worldwide, but after the auction he/she asked me for $15 USD shipping cost. I didn't pay, but asked the seller to remove that shipping cost. The seller never responded, but opened an unpaid item dispute. In the dispute, I asked the seller: "O.k., if I pay for it, will you send this item?" The seller didn't respond, but closed the dispute and I have received an unpaid item strike. Now I have an unpaid item strike by a fraudulent seller, and I can do nothing. This is eBay's policy.

Do you know that it's a crime to export counterfeit, fake or hacked products right? (at least in my country is)...

So I'm taking the risk of sending it back! I don't know how the other countries work.

In portugal our customs services check the product when it's to export outside the E.U. They investigate the origin of the item, the brand etc... so, since coby does not make this player It's a risk for me (yeah, I can have problems with the police). So, I think that I am beeing very comprehensive with this guy!
