IT`S ALIVE!
Dear mpx friends,
it can be done. But it takes time, and many, many trys (8 days 4 me). I know that i`m uploading probably the wrong firmware, but just have to try - and all this just beacouse to see how games looks. So, don`t be too corious - bad things can hapen :-) This work just for my Toprid Mpx player. Here are details for model - there is picture in gallery/photos section. Toprid 512Mb Mpx Player 1,5" screen, ipod look-like. Board model is : MP-693C-SL MAIN V1.3 2005.12.14 |
Re: IT`S ALIVE!
why always upgrade a different firmware?
why not just change the games. then nothin can be destroyed |
maaalin,
I'm not sure why people download firmware that is not suitable for their player. I guess people just think it might unlock some features or update their player with a recent and more up to date firmware? I mention in the "Licence" when people download the firmware to make sure they backup their existing firmware and also to make sure it is suitable for their player. Once again to everyone, please be careful when trying to update the firmware on your player as it might make your player a 'dead' player. |
Re: IT`S ALIVE!
yeh i took a look @ different firmwares.
its like: main.app games.app music.app and so on. as long as u just change the games.app, nothin can happen. ill try to get another main menu workin on my player, by exchanging the games.app with another main.app. but the problem will be, that pictures are missing. or it just will show up the wrong pictures. so it would be really nice if u could just add new pictures, i guess then it wont be a problem to change the main menu |
maaalin
Where are you seeing the "main.app" etc....? I'm uing s1res but can't seem to find the .app files you ar talking about? Unless you are using another program? |

Re: IT`S ALIVE!
hm. maalin ... it was just curiosity when uploading wrong firmware,,
it`s like, you know- its probably wrong thing to do, and evrything really working just fine, but! :-), but, just have to see whats gonna hapen if I upload some similar firmware.. just like when someone say to you - don`t touch something - this is just reason to touch it :-) so, admin is right - DON`T upload firmw. if you are not sure what you a doing and evryrthing working just fine. |
Re: IT`S ALIVE!
So these are the steps how to bring to life Mpx player.
This works for me after many trys, I don`t know if will work for other models of mpx player in the same way. Player id Toprid, hardw. model MP-693C-SL MAIN V1.3 2005.12.14. After uploading wrong firmw. player stop working completly. So in shorts, this is a procedure : 1. Open mpx player - to be able to put mpx player in recovery mode (ADFU mode by short-circuit memory chip). This is described here: http://www.s1mp3.org/en/docs_deadrec...a5f612d7#ancr3 It helps if your speakers are on - when you make a good short-circuit, you will hear it, beacouse your mpx player is now in recovery mode - and nothing hapens on pc screen - like icon pop-up or "found new hardware" stuff. I lost at first a lot of time thinking nothing hapen, just beacouse sound on pc was off. 2. Then, when mpx player is in recovery mode, just start Mp3 Player upgrade tool and upgrade the firmware. This is not your backup firmware, he can`t be uploaded right now - "invalid or wrong firmware" message is shown. You have to try some "basic" FULL firmware. You must trying here, until some ok firmware is accepted and uploaded to your mpx player. For my Mpx player that was MP-683E-GC-V01 (FULL) firmware. Then, turn off and then on mpx player and wait cca 10-15 sec - then for the 1st time a NEW drive icon appear in my computer window. Ok, mpx player is now recognized as some simple usb memory stick. Screen on mpx player is stil black. Don`t worry - thats normal. 3. Now it is time to bring mpx player in "real life" :-) Start Mp3 Player upgrade tool again, and select your "normal" firmware. If you are lucky, your (backuped) firmware will be accepted. If not, you can try some other working firmware. For now, I can`t upload my orginal firmware, but M3345 action solution firmware (posted here by admin - thanks Binh!) was accepted. Hope this help you. Conclusion: So, now mpx player work again , but not 100% as before. M3345 firmware is ver. 3.2.16 and my orginal was 3.5.3.5. All menus are the same, but just 1 thing is not ok - sound volume can go only down. Binh help, maybe volume control is adjusted on some other way in M3345 player. Before, I just shortly pressed VOL control, and then left or right to adjust volume. This not working now :-( Hope you can help, thanks Also, I hope that I be able to find the way how to upgrade my orginal firmware again... |
Hy Donkez
I have exactly the same player as you (only 2GB, but same platform). I was so stupid and installed a wrong firmeware and so the player is dead. I first was able to flash without opening the player, but know I have to make a curciut to flash. So I already searching for the right firmware to flash and get the player werk over USB to install the real firmware. Now my question, can you please send me the two firmwares you used, because all firmwares I downloaded didn't work right. 1000 thanks to you!!! I hope I can fix it :-) |
