Fake Ipod 1.5 Screen - Problem with Firmware (Blue Screen)

Hello

I bought a MP4 (like Ipod 1.5 screen) 1 Go

Here you have the pic :
http://www.mympxplayer.com/album_picm.php?pic_id=38

I found the good firmware on mympxplayer :
http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=117

Moreover The MP3 Upgrade tool said the upgrade was a success !!

The problem is I see only a blue screen. But the MP4 works : I can put some musics or folders without problem because windows recongnize it without any problems. I can also listen this music because I remenber what touch I have to put to access to listen the songs (but i see nothing).

So if you can help me ... thänk you in advance.

Sorry for my poor English.

Gilles

Hi Gilles,

Well your nano clone looks the same as mine, and the firmware you downloaded looks to be right as it worked for me, but i know these things can look the same and yet have different components inside.
One suggestion is try updating again but with a different version upgrade tool, I had problems with the one that came with my player but had more luck with version 3.68 or 4.00 both of which can be downloaded in tools section .

http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...r=DESC&start=0

Good Luck.
Terry

I do not know what version you first tried but 3.68 seems to be a little more stable than 4.00.

You could try this one http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...77773f7e087b38
It is a mod I did of my original firmware.

Hope it helps.

Hey Gilles, a couple more options you can try, after reading many posts on S1mp3.org forums it appears some have had success by first reformatting their players before flashing the firmware.

Also most of the firmware on the net are not full firmware files but partial dumps. I found this link to a firmware file that has the same image content as the first one you downloaded but is claimed to be a full firmware file might be worth a try.

Fingers crossed,

Gilles, sounds to me like you have not found the right firmware for your player. You have stated MP-693c-SL here are some firmwares with the same code.

Thanks for your help.

All firmwares you give me works seems working (Upgrade success)

But infortunaly I still got the blue screen.

With this firware CDT sd4284-h_v2.0_7-FM.fw I can go to the "recovery mode" .. black screen and after with this 3.5.37v2.1b FM.fw I can return to a normal mode Blue screen.

Maybe i need an other .fw ... i don't know.

Gil I have looked at both these files and I would say that CDT sd4284-h_v2.0_7-FM.fw is most definatly not suited to your player it is for a much smaller non LCD player so forget this one.

If windows is no longer recognizing your player you are going to have to open you player and short you chip to reset it.

Here is a walkthrough written by someone with the same chip as you of how they recovered their player

http://forum.s1mp3.org/viewtopic.php?t=2906

It includes links to downloads of the firmware you need to use. Do not use any of the ones you have downloaded already.

You need to do it again but use the firmware in this walkthrough not the ones you already have.

http://forum.s1mp3.org/viewtopic.php?t=2906

I think the ones you alredy have are not suited to your player.

Re: Fake Ipod 1.5 Screen - Problem with Firmware (Blue Scree

Idon't find APU device ... I don't see nothing in the MP3 utility folder (Version 4.00)

And i don'y understand really what happened with SF1w ... because it's a soft to extract o repair a firmware ... not to send a firmware on a MP4 ... so maybe if i understand this ... it will be ok.

Gil

tadad1 3rd Jun 2006 6:59 am

S1fwx.exe does not extract a full copy of the firmware some files are not copied. If when you flash your mpx with the incorrect firmware and the files that were not copied in the dump were replaced or damaged then your backup dump.bin is not going to fix it because it does not contain the files needed.

A full firmware file is different to a s1fwx.exe dump.

You need to get your player to a point where windows recognises it as an ADFU device then use the firmware in the walkthrough to flash it twice.
