Default U_U Tried changing Firmware

Hello the Mpx team -___-

Right now I'm pretty scared, I loaded the Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod firmware and it said it succeeded.
I have Ipod clone it had the 3.5.37 firmware. But I wanted to change it to the nice looking Windows version which was 3.5.35 .
But when it rebooted there was only a black screen I pluged in my head phones and pushed on the M botton then play and there is music playing but no picture.
Is there something I forgot to do ? What I think is it's working fine but with no graphics or anything just a black screen.
How can I get the screen back ?
Should I give more info ? When I go in the Upgrade program it says the last upgrad was successful.
- I just looked in my Mp4 player it's a "Samsung-616-K9WAG08U1M-PCB0-FXC368X2" 2GB
So it's reconized, plays music because I remember which buttons to push "BUT" it's pich black or dark blue.
Should I format it then upgrade with the 3.5.37 dump file ?

Kuronami,

My player uses firmware version 3.5.35 and is not compatible with 3.5.37 as they have slightly different menu systems so I doubt if 3.5.35 is compatible with your 3.5.37 player.

I take it you did not backup your firmware before you flashed your player. If you did you should be able to reload your backup.

If you did not here is a link to a version 3.5.37 http://www.alexejw.net/firmware/3.5.37%20dump.zip this may recover your player.

I've tried several Firmwares from your site from different people ;
- 3.5.37 dump
- 3.5.37v2.1b FM for recovery
- dvs6000_fw_v3.5.37
Still nothing T__T
What should I do now ? I can upload a picture of my ipod.

Are there any final solutions to this ?
My mp4 is detected on my pc but each time I flash it with a new firmware it doesn't solve the problem. Do I need to open it or format it ?
Then what heppens next ?
Do you think I'll need to buy a new one ?

Kuronami, Formatting may help but be sure to use the MP3 Player Disk Tool to do it do not format it with windows. You also may not have found the correct firmware yet. For most people who recover their players it is a process of trial and error until they get the right one.

If you open the player and find the board number, the memory chip number and the main processor chip number this information may help you find the firmware version that is for your player.

SK has uploaded some photo's of where you can find this information here http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?p=1964#1964.

Hi @Kuronami:

I have imported a lot of fake ipod nano MP4 players and had to format a lot of them because the buyers where not reading the manual. They just disconnect their player without closing the USB port first. Resulting in corrupted files.

Till now I formatted all the players without any difficulty so far, I did it through Windows XP. The clue is to format it in FAT format (not FAT32). After the format keep the payer connected with your computer and upload the firmware (use MP3 Player Utilities version 3.68, it’s the most stable version).

I have uploaded a slightly modified v3.5.37 firmware version in de upload section but it is still not visible there!?!

Therefore try this link www.sundust.eu/TR_v3.5.37_080606.bin to download the file from my own server. I managed to recover three MP4 players with this bin file, they all had a black screen after a unsuccessful firmware down/up grade! I hope it will work for you as well.

I have a couple more firmware’s for you to try if this one fails, I will upload them tomorrow.

Just an extra note from me:

I think that the Fake Chinese ipod MP3/MP4 players can be re-activated without needing them to shorten the chips inside.

It just depends on the right firmware you have to upload. So far I have re-activated all the dead players that came back to me. Of course only if there're no hardware problems (broken switches, bad battery, i.e.).

Please don't hang me on this statement but I'm just talking out of my own experience.

Only the newest ones that come with the USB port on the right side and the earphone plug on the bottom are more tricky. I managed to alter the boot and goodbye screens and I rewrote the Dutch language, which is terrible on all the versions. I will upload that firmware too. But be careful with that one. It took me three uploads before it worked. This version has even a nice screensaver in it!
