Default [Solved] My MPx Player will not connect to my PC

I bought this MP4 player off ebay and I got it in the mail just yesturday. It's a 1GB with a 1.8" screen. here's the picture:

The first time I connected it to my pc, everything was fine. I downloaded some suff on it and it all worked. but eversince that time, whenever i connect it to the computer, it goes straight to the menu and it will not connect to the computer. The "USB connection Screen" will flash for like half a second and it goes into the menu. In other words, no matter what I do, it does not connect through USB at all!!! I can't even try upgrading the firmware since i get no connection. So what can I do? is there a why i can restore it without USB connection or do i just throw it out and pretend i lost $80 ?
Any help would be good...
thanx

moh3em, you could try connecting it to another usb port and windows should then reinstall the drivers, then you may be able to access your player. Even if you do not send your player back to supplier just yet I suggest you at least tell them of the problem in case it is a fault with your player.

moh3en

It could also be the USB cable or USB connector in your player that is faulty. If you say the "USB connection Screen" will flash for like half a second", it's most likely that it's trying to connect, but it's not properly.

Try tadad's suggestion too and try a different USB port on your computer (try them all). Also try connecting it to another computer altogether.

Let us know of the result.

moh3en, have you tried turning your mp4 off without disconnecting the usb after it goes to the menu screen?
Usually it should go back to the usb connecting screen after you turn it off.

Normally, when I press the menu browser of my mp4 when it is in usb connecting mode, it goes to the menu screen.

So I tried holding down my menu browser button and then connecting to my PC...and bingo...the usb connection screen flashes for about a second and then my mp4 goes to the menu screen...

Make sure your menu browser button is not pressed when you connect to your computer

Check to make sure if by any chance your menu browser button is stuck or something (or maybe it is malfunctioning).

There could be something wrong internally with that button.

Let us know if this helps fix the problem.

I've tried everything but i've had no luck. the only thing i haven't tried yet is changing the usb cable. I will do that today and see if I have any luck with that.

Even when i turn it off while the cable is connected, it turns on again and goes back to the menu again. It has an auto power off function as well and the same thing happens with that. So as soon as it automaticly shuts off after a while, it will start back up again and will go into the menu agian. Its like an infinate loop! The intreasting part is that the player works fine on its own. There are a few files on there that play perfectly and i can even delete them from the player itself but no USB connection

moh3en, thats good news if you get the chance please edit your original post and add (Solved) to the title.

Hope you get the most out of your player now, and don't forget to backup your firmware.

Cheers

moh3en, download s1fwx from here
http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=136
then connect your player to your PC and run the extract.bat in the s1fwx folder, this will create a file called dump.bin. Then run the repair.bat which will check and repair the dump file. The resulting dump.bin file is your firmware backup.

It would be great if you could then upload it the site along with some info on your players specifications and maybe a picture. That way you will always be able to download a copy if you need to and it may help others who run into problems.

Thanks again
