DJ LiQUiD, try repairing the firmware (the one that gives you the black lines) using the s1fwx tool from this site. Then upgrade with the repaired firmware. Maybe this will help solve the problem.

What was your original version? Maybe I can try finding you a compatible firmware.
By the way, which firmware were you talking about when you said you could see but it was too bright? Did you try adjusting the brightness of the lcd? If you still have that firmware, there's a firmware modifier tool on this site that allows you to change the contrast of the screen. Maybe that will help solve your problem.

Let me know if this helps 8)

Also the files are http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...ile&file_id=80 this one is the one that is to bight and http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=166 this is the one with the black lines.

DJ LiQUiD, seems like you have a problem similar to the problem on this forum:
http://mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?t=425
Take a look at this post if you like and see if they find a solution.

Was the computer detecting your player fine before with the black striped firmware?
Have you tried with a different usb cable, etc.?

DJ LiQUiD, You need to start from scratch and short the chip to reset it.I have posted the steps I used to recover a dead player here with links to the firmware I used:

http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic...r=asc&&start=0

You need to keep repeating the process until you find the correct firmware

DJ LiQUiD, your only solution is to keep trying different firmware till you find the correct one. What did the boot and shutdown screens look like?
What games did it have?
Did it have a flower theme?
If you give some details finding the firmware will be easier.
