shiloh, you could try to extract your firmware , repair it then load it back on your player.
It could also be a fault in the radio chip on you board if so I do not think it can be fixed unless you can get a technician to replace it.

bmmsid, If you have MP3 Player Utilities installed there is a copy of th ADFU driver in RDisk Update\Driver folder.

Hi – Just got mine Mp3 4g from Wilson, it had ver 3.5.35 I wanted to update to ver 3.5.37.
The first one I tried did not update. The next one I downloaded – updated – but then I got A BLUE SCREEN I do have access to the chip (my files are still there) I did back up before I started.

When I try to use the upgrade tool - to upload the old firm ware, it says or " Device switching has failed, Reconnect device" or "Device not detected"

I just want to make sure before I start that, I have to go through the whole process of opening it up and touching the chip etc.

Please help.

The question is do I have to open the gizmo up and short the chip to restart it? Or if i can go on to next step?

Thanks

Need Help!

I followed the steps of the recovery, all I get now is that sometimes Windows does not recognize the USB port (in the device manger it says “unknown device”) and in the firmware updater it says “device not detected”. I even formatted the drive and it did not help!

After rebooting the computer in the device manger it said “USB mass storage device” and when I ran the firmware updater it said “ Device switching failed, please reconnect device”

What do I do?

Help Needed.

After playing with the gizmo some more: I see that somehow there are two drives on the gizmo one is: 3.99GB and one is: 1M.
1 mp3 players were detected, 1 removable disks, 0 ADFU devices

Is it possible that this is the reason I am having trouble?
