sratra, Try another dump and see if you get the same message, if you do try a different full version firmware then the dump again.

When I try to upload a firmware, the program shows an error: "Update verification failed" Please help! what can I do? I have a Sigmatel MP4 player zc-45.

tadad1 1st Nov 2006 6:17 am

ActivatedTM, What firmware are you trying?

ActivatedTM 1st Nov 2006 6:40 am

MS5541FW_v006.002.009

ActivatedTM 1st Nov 2006 6:47 am

sigmatel_2.600.600

And there is onother error message, when I use older Sigmatel upload software... I attach player
to computer, there is a sound and then I copied sigmatel_2.600.600 files to Sigmatel upload directory and ran updater, and then it shows
an error message: "Unable to write firmware file data"

Can someone please help me? I recently purchased a black iPod nano wanna-be of 4GB and I went to upgrade the firmware and it did that 'blue screen' thing. I have followed the DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE but I still have a blue screen staring at me...what can I do?

innocent_imperfections, The hardest part about trying to recover your player is finding the right firmware. There are 100's of variations each built to suit specific hardware components. Your only option is to keep searching and trying firmware that suits your player screen size until you find one that is compatible with your player.

What chipset is your player using?
