and i wanna ask a guestion: there are two types of versions one of them like this 3.5.57 and other is like 9.0.48 what is the differences between them?

tadad1 4th Jan 2007 8:21 pm

musty42, the 3.5.XX series firmwares are used on players using the ATJ2051 and ATJ2085 chips. The 9.0.XX series firmware will only work on players using the ATJ2091, 2095, 2097 and CTW500 chips.
the two are very different and you can not swap between versions.

When i install a new driver by the proprieties of USB device, after show all device, there is a window that ask me the tipe of device, and only when i click next, I can select the Driver on Windows directory. The problem is that if I select a device, the driver non work. A window tell me "The specified position doesn't contain information on the hardware".
What can I do?
Your Guide is thery beatiful, but i cannot go forward.

Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE

Great guide, very detailed, its just i cant perform any of it,i have opened the player up connected and connected it to my computer, i have connected a pair of tweasers to the pins on the side of the chip endlessly for the past 2 hours and nothing has happened.

I got this problem 2 days ago when i connected it to my computer, it just swiched its self off and will not turn back on again, i have tried charging it, but nothing, so i tried this, i dont know if the battery is dead or it just isnt working because i updated it.

All i know is it is one of the nano copies from china and the chip says samsung on it.
Thanks for your help.

buckers, If the player is showing no signs of life at all when you short the chip then the problem may be hardware related. If this is the case then you may not be able to recover your player.

hi everyone... okay here's my prob. my idiot brother messed not only with my computer but with my mp4 player as well.. he decided to upgrade it, but instead of doing it, he downgraded it.. the original version of my player was 9.0.5 and now its 3.5.35...
i tried all of the steps, and i am now stuck in the recovery process.. does it take a really really long time to recover??? should i try another program for recovery? what program would you recommend?

(by the way, i wasn't able to back up my original firmware, yup like my problem isn't big enough)
