I "almost" owe you a beer:

This is my 1,8" 1GB MP3
http://hkdream-tech.com/products/Mp3Mp4/DT220.jpg

Within 3 hours I owned it I was able to kill it (I was following the manual step by step to learn, antil the part: "Now it´s time to upgrade your player")

->F*** chineses, they have to tell in the manual that :"This proccess is absolutelly unecessary and will ruin your player"
------------------------------------------------

Anyway, after 15 hours, I managed to make it work again, perfectlly, BUT:
-> I damaged it during the "operation": This model has the battery attached to the "back" part and four wires between the board and the back. Of course, one of them is now "loose", and I don´t really now where it fits. :(

Does anyone have a clue? Or maybe a link to a mp4-hardware site?

Thank you veeeeery much, If I may say so, you should add that we´ll usually need 2 files (one .fw and one .bin) to recover, both need to be from the same "number"model and are different for each player.

Victor1980 ,
3 Hours to kill, not bad :)
Re Lose wire hope this helps

Re need 2 Firmware 1 .fw, 1 .bin. Not all full firmware are .fw some can be .bin. they also do not have to be the same number I have used a full 3.5.37 and a 3.5.35 dump together to recover a player.

Re Beer What is with ALMOST? :)

Glad you got your player up and running again.

DUDE, You are the BEST!

Although you answered and found as impossible image of what I needed in 40 minutes, I ended up taking it to a technician. Since I don´t have the tools nor the skill to fix my "baby", guess this was the best choice.

Anyway, I upped the image on my other player, and demmanded him to see it! (he claimed he already knew how to fix it, but I trust no one anymore :p)

Thanks A LOT!

Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE

Please help!
As many before me, I tried to upgrade and now get the flashing blue screen. Windows XP will not recognize the player, but there are no screws on this thing to open it up? Anyone with this type of player with no screws? MIne is a IPOD knock-off with apple logo on back 2GB

Any help would be apprecieted.
Thanks

ddish, Unless you can open it there is not much you can do. Try to gently wedge the player open it may just have snap locks.
