Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
i have two dead mp4 players one is of 8gb and the other is of 4gb.
When i used to connect the 4gb player then it used to show two removabvle disks in my computer.one of the removable disks were accesible but the other was'nt(i suspect that the one which was'nt accesible has the firmware of my mp3 payer).i dint remove the player by stoping it from the taskbar.then the accesible disk stopped showing in my computer.i had alredy put some music earlier in the player. The player turns on and can access the menu but the when i try to open the music menu then the player restarts. P.S.-the unaccessible removable disk is 1mb and the other is 4gb.And the firmware version is sc85051f ACT_V3.5.35. please help!!! |
sratra, You need to disable driver signing, right click on My Computer and select Properties, Hardware Tab, Driver Signing and make sure it is set to Ignore
http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/407/driverscs1.jpg If your player is showing 2 drives you need to go to the settings menu in the player and select On-line Mode and make sure it is set to Normal Only. Your player is restarting because it has a hacked memory chip. These players do not come in 4GB and 8GB they will only support a maximum of 2GB memory. You need to format the player to remove the hack that is causing it to read as a larger chip size and corrupt your files. If you look through the forums you will find many posts related to this problem. http://www.mympxplayer.org/hacked-4-...yer-vt839.html http://www.mympxplayer.org/the-blacklist-vt1323.html to find the true size of your memory check the serial number of the chip against this list http://www.mympxplayer.org/samsung-a...rs-vt1692.html |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE

i am very surprised and unhappy to know that the mp3 players my parents got from china were not really 4 or 8 gb.It was rather shocking to know that so many peaple are victims to this scam after reading those forums. Also, i think it is very good of you peaple to create awareness of this issue :D .I would like to tell you that not only the buyers ofebay but also unsuspecting tourists visiting china on vacations buy such mp3 players in thier shops!,as in the case of my parents. sratra |

Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
where can i find MP3 Upgrade Tool. i m so close to make it
i've done all steps. i installed it as a adfu device now i'm at "Now the player is in a state where you can upload firmware so open the MP3 Upgrade Tool and you will be presented with this dialogue" part . where can i find mp3upgrade tool. i have backup of my player. 3.5.35 |
sratra,
The sad part is that most people only read the forum after they have bought a hacked player. If you have installed the ADFU driver then your player will not show in windows but it should be detected by the upgrade tool and be in recovery mode. |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
hi BrandonWalsh
you can get the MP3 Upgrade Tool from Here then you should choose 1 of MP4 S1 mp3 players :) |
Thank you so much whit your guide i could bring back to life mi dead player
thank you |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
OMG. i have done it!!! it works ... Thanx TADAD1. u're the king ;)
Thanx for great guiding |
HatNet & BrandonWalsh, That is great news I'm glad you have been able to recover your player :D . I wish everyone had the same success.

Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
Hello,
One week ago I received a mp3/mp4 player bought on Ebay. It was enable to play fully all the videos I've converted with the "on CD" software. I decided to change software version : same thing, So I decided to change firmware, that killed my player ... I've discovered this topic, (thanks for help tada 1), made several tries, but now my player is always recognised as a ADFU driver, and does not appear as a disk , the update manager says it's impossible to read/write on it. Even ubuntu doesn't recognise it as a disk. Is there any solution ? |
FrenchUser, If your player is recognised as an ADFU Device it is recovery mode and will only accept a full version firmware which you can download from HERE Once you load the full firmware it should be recognised as a removable drive and you should be able to load firmware dumps.
|
i have a china made digital mp4 player it is working but whn we try to select next song it will restart now am take a back up file from it sw info-fw-srx-3.5.37/2006/03/24/core-pma 300-010 how can i solve it

Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
Thank you Tada1 !!!
My Player came back to life. But there is a little problem : It is recognized as a 1 GB instead of a 4 GB disk, and it's still imposible to watch full video. You can have one beer : Go THERE and ask a beer. |
FrenchUser, :D that is the best beer I have been sent.
The reason it is 1GB is because it was a hacked chip, these players can only support a maximum 2GB nand Flash Memory. Killing your player , formatting and reflashing has removed the hack and the chips true size is now shown. To confirm this you can check the serial number of the memory chip against this list HERE Now what problems are you having with video? What size is your player screen? What version of MP3 Player Utilities are you using? |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
:(
hey tadad1 i need help.i have installed the full firmware and now the removable disk is accessible in my computer and i have also installed the dump but still my player shows a blue screen. It is a 1gb nano clone.i am pretty sure i have the correct firmware. sratra |
sratra, You could try a different full version then the dump again, but my guess is the dump is for a player with a different screen type or board variation.

|
LSGmp4, Whilst your players layout and design may be different to the one used in the guide the method and process are still the same for all Action chipset players.

hi please help i have a black nano clone, 2gig 1.5 screen from brohauns, i have the blue screen and thats it i fallowed your directions but to no avail just the blue screen, my firmware virsion was 3.6.something and i cant find 3.6 anything any where, i have tried all the firmware i can find but wont work please help ps i have no backup : (
|
deadnano,
To the best of my knowledge there are no 3.6** version firmware. If it had a 6 it was possibly 3.2.16. If you start a new post with some images of your player, some links to where you purchased it someone may have bought the same player and could upload the firmware for you. Also try contacting brohauns and see if they will send you a copy of the firmware. |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
Hi i followed the guide and got to the point where my player was recognised as drive F then i flashed it several times with various firmwares like it said but now everytime i try to flash it i get the message now is recovery state " " ". and it is no longer recocognising it as drive F but i do here the connection noise when i plug it in
my player is http://www.uxcell.com/uxcell/retail/...v0pur1024mp002 thanks |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
nice it took me a whole day but it is working now, this site is great i now know how to change the files to display my own pics and mod the firmware this site is so cool thank you much
|
broose, If your player is in Recovery State then you need to use a full version firmware first then you can start loading dump files.
|
deadnano, You will have to change your user name now :)
|
i guess dead nano isnt good any more huh, well im working on some cool theams so i will upload monday
|
deadnano, Look forward to seeing them.
|
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
Yeah i did that tadad1 but when i relaunch the firmware update software i get the same recovery state message. i use the full firmware then i turn it of for 30 seconds then turn it back on , i here the noise windows makes when it has found a device, then i relaunch the recovery tool and i get the same message about being in recovery state.
cheers |
broose, This has only happened to me if the full firmware is completely unsuitable for the player. Using a different full versiopn firmware should get you to the next step.
|
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
i used the full firmware the first few times and everything went ok, then it just started doing the recovery state thing all the time.i will try again, what full version do you think i should use?
thanks |
