Cyen87,
if it is detected as adfu device, before formatting it, upload a full firmware using upgrade tools 4.0.X, you will notice that there will be a recover button instead of upgrade button. After you recover it , you may not need to format it, you my get your previous files in it. good luck.

I first started with having the sand glass staying on the screen. I then tried the recovery procedure and installed a full version of one of the firmware I downloaded from this web. Instead of showing the sand glass, it showed a white screen. After reading this posting, I used the upgrade tool to upgraded the player using one of the .bin files on the CD that came with this thing. After that, I saw the drive shows up on the explore but the screen is completely black now. What shall I do? Seems like everything is okay now except the screen.

Update of what I have done so far after my last post...
I unpluged the player and connected it using another usb plug. This time, it said "unknown drive". I followed the recovery guide again and wouldn't able to install the drive back to the ADU drive. Also, when I chose the adfupdate.inf file it said it does not contain file for the drive or something like that. I tried to short it again and it didn't work for me. I'm done everything I could think of and played with it all day today. I'm gonna try it again tomorrow. Can anybody help me please? Please advice!!!
