1) Why it can create an error signal by connecting 2 side of this board? 2) Why computer would be able to detect the player when its memory chip "self reboot" I appreciate what you teach me :D. Most of thing are not in dark now but I need to know it deeply before trying to learn and modify my player's firmware. Thank you very much ^^ |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
hello everyone :)
i will just ask, do i need to do the "tweezers" thing even if my computer can detect my mp3 players as a storage device? tnx in advance. more power to this site |
thont , many ICs have a pin that acts as a reset input. This can be triggered by either a logic high or low, depending on the manufacturer. Some player manufacturers uses these reset inputs to act as a player reset/troubleshooting method.
So when the pins are shorted, what it does is to randomly send logic highs and lows across the chip. I'm not sure which is the reset pin, but could be checked up on the datasheet. When the correct logic signal has been sent to the correct pin, the chip initiates as self-reboot due to an error. When the chip reboots, the computer would be able to detect the player as there are changes in the hardware itself. |
zer0,
no need to do the "tweezers" method if ur player r working fine..as explained by lattesurf it is used as dead recovery method.. Windows will detect most players as storage(like USB drive)..it is common |
Re: DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
I need a bit of help regarding my MP4 player. Bought from Ebay (yeh I know). I tried updating the firmware and waited for about 15 minutes but on screen it just kept saying "connect" and nothing happened so I followed the guide on dead players doing the tweezer trick. I ran the tweezers down the pins and now have the blue screen, plugged it in to the pc but the pc isnt recognising it i.e. nothing is happening. Anyone got any advice? Not sure of the make but according to the sales jabber, if to be believed, it has samsung flash. Link below. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I have a problem. I try to test the s1fwx program out to make sure that it will work. I unpack firmware file and then repack it again. It worked but actually not completely fine. I can listen to the music in my MP3 but when I try to connect my MP3 to computer, it stop at "System init ..." and then display the logo before restart! What is the problem here?
Thanks for any help! |
