Please, how has the FW to:

I try to upgrade the FW using the upgrading tool but when i select the fw file and press the recover fw button a error window open informed that cant read or write.... Is my flash dead???

More info - when i try to use the mp3 firmware upgrading tool sometime open:

1- flash is no responding

2- read or write device information faild! Please exit the program, and check if device is connecting.

And other time the program stop on "downloading the boot record"

Please Help me!!!

at this moment my player is dead :( and now i am try to recover my player follow the guide, I short the i/o pin, the windows recognizes the ADFU, but when i try to use the upgrading tool to put the firmware... happen what i said in the begin. am i done anything wrong??

lucianoflp, try to format the player first.

tadad1, i tried format using the mp3 disk tool but open a window informed that "Not detected removable disk! Please check the disk connecting, or reeboot system!"

lucianoflp, What firmware are you trying to flash it with?

tadad1, i tried the 3.5.37v2.1b_FM and other what i found in download area. at the last tentative a blue screen oppears informed that the windows was turned off and bla...bla..bla.... i re-start the windows and try again, and the blue screen didn't appears again but.... nothing news happened.... i tried the update tool and when the program start the scanning the firmware... the same message: "read or write device information faild! (...) "

Today i tried recover my dead player again.... i download the 1.45Vs of MP3 tools and something new happened..!!! a new message... the flash is no responding!!! :cry: i really don't know what more can i do...

Did you try the MP3 Utilities v4.0? Its downloadable here i think...

nabilash, yes did. i tried all the vs of mp3 utilities.

lucianoflp, It has nothing to do with the MP3 Utilities stick with 3.68 the problem is with your player.

Connect the player to your PC turn it on and short your chip pins,
Is it still identified as an ADFU Device and does windows install the drivers automatically without error messages?
Go this far and let me know please..

Can you say, is your player detected after connecting to pc, w/out shorting i/o pins. If it goes to ADFU mode, you need to check if this pins are not connected together. I had same problem then recovering my player, but after clean pins this work excelent :)

Then Short i/o pins remember to stop shorting after windows detect device ;)

tadad1 and bojer, yes the player is detected after connecting to pc and goes to ADFU mode. somtimes, after short the pin and the player detected ADFU mode, i turn off and turn on the player and it is automatically detected as ADFU, so today i clean the chip pins and tried again, but when i use the mp3 update toll to flash the fw the same messages appears. when i use the fw 3.5.37v2.1b FM.fw that i download here, and start the update toll, select the fw and before press recover firmware button the mp4 screnn turn on (black) and after when a press the recover firmware button the message "read or write device information failed!(...)" appears, but when i try other fw, other message appears, "flash is no responding".

lucianoflp, I have uploaded a different firmware upgrade program DOWNLOAD . Open the folder and run BatchProduct.exe. If your player is not detected press the READ RECORD button. Press the REPLACE FIRMWARE button to load the firmware and then the BEGIN DOWNLOAD button to upload firmware. If the ERASE FLASH button becomes active after you load the firmware use it to erase your chip before uploading the firmware. You may then have to format the player before restoring your backup.

tadad1, i think the problem is the hardware... i have try every thing and nothing resolved. but, maybe the full fw what i have is not the right... i tried all of the fw on download area, now i am wainting the seller e-mail me the full fw, but he didn't know if he will can get it.... so.... i will wait this.

I tried the softer what you uploaded, i follow all the steps, until erase flash.., but the final result is REPORT => Total conect: 1 Current connected: 1 Total passed: 0 current passed: 0

lucianoflp, If you are still trying to find the firmware I have uploaded a full version MP-693c-SL 3.5.35 HERE I have made some modifications to it that may fix your player. Let me know.

I have the same motherbord and thisfiles works :)
There's Ipod theme too!

i have done that with the new update program
but still i get the same message:read or write device......and flash is no responding...what should i do?

it's possible to resend the version 2.8?

flash memory chip poor connection, do re-solder job if u have the skill.
