All I can remember is that the firmware was initially version 3.2.16, dated somewhere in July or Aug 2005.

I tried almost all firmwares on http://www.s1mp3.org/fr/downloads_fw.php without success. There is a type B firmware (3.2.13) that wakes up a little bit the player (blue screen, on/off working) and that's all...

Ok thanks. I 'll try these, but I'm not too optimistic as:

http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=120 --> my player is NOT a (fake) mini Ipod

http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=131 --> the theme is very different from the one I had. The welcome screen was an opening flower with "welcome"

http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=152 --> the theme I had was not Windows Vista.

quintet, The Vista is a re-themed Lotus Flower version.

Ok I tried the 3 of them.
#1 and #3 --> blue screen
#2 --> killed the player
