Stuck following recovery guide

Hey

So i have the nano style 1 gb mp4 player

I installed wrong firm ware yada yada yada.

So I am at the part in the guide where you use the tweezers. It works like a charm

Xp recognizes it as USB device. IT will not let me use the A..fuupdate.inf as the driver.

What can i do now? I cannot use that file and cant find a file to use as the driver - and i am one step away from where i can reflash it with a full firmware

please help

mypreludeisred,
Do you have AdfuUpdate.inf and ADFUUD.SYS files in your Windows directory?

The files should also be in this folder too if you have installed the AMV Convert Tool 3.68

C:\Program Files\MP3 Player Utilities 3.68\RDiskUpdate\driver

Yes i do have both of those files and i do have that folder which also contains the files.

It wont let me use the .INF file as the driver it says that it doesnt go with the hardware.

The message I get is

The specific location does not contain information for the hardware

Can someone please send me a driver perhaps?
I am so close to completeing the recovery but its just this one step!!

mypreludeisred, When you select install driver from disk, and then browse what file name appears in the File name: area at the bottom of the window?

Re: Stuck following recovery guide

Driver name = adfuupdate.inf

mypreludeisred, There should also be a driver in your MP3 Player Upgrade Tool folder. Try that if Windows will still not install it you may need to log on to your PC as Administrator and then try again.
