[solved] Nano 2gb mp4 White HELP

IS THIS YOUR PLAYER Or Something Similar.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-..._mp4_white.jpg[b]
Made the mistake of Directly disconnecting USB cable from the computer, which left the drive unrecognizable by the computer, needing to be formatted.

In the manual it says to never delete the directory structure, however didn't have a choice.

After I formatted the unit, looked positive as I could now drag files onto the drive, however the only function that is working on the player is the AMV movies & The FM Radio

Trying to select Music or Record fails to show the (orange/yellow) Initialization screen, and instead goes black and returns to main menu.

I urgently require the Directory Structure, and also possibly the Firmware
Firmware menu displays the Following information:

[b]Firmware menu displays the Following information:

PMA300_006
2005/11/04

RYJ-3.5.35

2005/12/16

If anyone can make a backup of the this firware and post the .bin for download that would be great. (Backup tool) found in the Download section.
Its called S1wf, Download, Unzip, open the folder, run program called extract. then select the drive letter of your player by typing it in, and it will make a backup.
Appreciate any help for this player not only for myself but for the others who may be in the same situation.

Re: Nano 2gb mp4 White HELP

Hi amv,

There are actually few of the Nano fake firmwares already in our "Firmware" section of the downloads area. Have you look at it yet?

Have a look here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...egory&cat_id=4

However, they are just 'firmware' files and won't have the directory structure in there.

Was your player readable by the s1fwx tool? If it was, then it would be an ACTIONS board. As far as I have seen with my other players which have ACTIONS boards, you don't need to have specific folders in the player for it to work. You can just dump your files in the root of the player's drive. I have heard that other chip boards (Sigmatel/Sunplus) might need it through............

However, if your player can play AMV video files, then it's definately an ACTIONS boards so shouldn't need to have a file structure as far as I know.

Unfort, I don't have the Nano-lookalikes, so can't say for sure. If anyone else has, can you please reply and tell us what file structure is on your player?

Would be very interested to know.....

Re: Nano 2gb mp4 White HELP

Results with s1fwx tool:

Swfx reads the player OK when using the List function.
I can Extract and repair, but fear the Firware could be slightly corrupt,?!

repair process in swfx reports sucess, so I dont know.

Just cant seem to get the music working again.

Ive tryed downloading various .bin firmware files for 3.5.35 and 3.35.37 from the downloads section, but they all come up as invalid firware when I use with update tool..luckily my player still boots up

Somewhere along the line I must have damaged the Hourglass Initilization for Music, as when I select music I get the hour glass, and it should say Initilization, but goes black and goes to main menu.

Photos works fine
Amv video works fine
Fm Radio works fine but attempting to record Fine or LP record resets to main menu,
ebook - never used
Mic Record - resets to main menu
Music -resets

The actions board should be ok as I can drop Pics, Amv (used to have music as well into 1 folder etc)

I think I need a directory structure to get the music initiliazation so i can browse to folders.

ANy Firware Ive tryed to install 3.5.35 +3.5.37 with Mp3 upgrade tools comes up as Productor Actions Zhuhai Version 3.0.00.

Cant seem to get new .Bin firmware files recognized by the upgrade tool as S1 Mp3 Player, Productor Wilson.Co.Ltd Version 3.5.35 which is the Wilson S1 version that i need.

Cheers

Amv, Have you tried checking the player for disk errors and formating it. Also you could try running the repair.bat on the downloaded firmware, I have noticed a few in the download section have not been repaired after extraction and will give an "Invalid Firmware" message.

Weecho 30th Jun 2006 11:09 am

I had this same problem of the firmwares not being recongnized even tho i had used them before... It kept saying invalid firmware... so i tried different versions of the tools mtv tools 3.13, amv tools 3.68, and 4.0... until one would let me flash it... this worked for me... good luck and make sure u check the board ID on your mp4 so that you dont flash an incorrect firm..

Good Luck.

Amv

Take tadad's suggestion, check your player for errors and FORMAT it to see if it helps.

However, try creating a folder called "MP3" and put your music in there and see if that works?

I've got two mpx players (old, 1.2" LCD screens) which has a folder called "MP3" on it.

I also notice there is a hidden "WMPInfo.xml" file as well stored in the root of the player. Not sure if that makes any difference..... Try the "MP3" folder and see what happens and let us know.

Re: Nano 2gb mp4 White HELP

Solved The Music Problem Woo Hoo!!!

Heres what happened;
The Mp3 Disk Tool was not working for me, every time I tryed to format the player, kept getting the message invalid disc.

Instead Formatted it with windows which worked.
Chose FAT not FAT32.

Also Ran Error Checker by Right Clicking, and ran through all the ticked options.

On trying the player this time, Still no Music, however, trying the other dead options such as Record from mic, and Record from Radio suddenly sprang to life!!!

On checking the contents of the drive, I found that the player had automatically created its own RECORD folder and inside that Folder was another folder labelled VOICE. Very Excited by all this...ooh so near yet so far away....

Music wasnt working, I tryed the procedure again to see if it would kick start like the others....nothing :(

Ok now the exciting part!!!

I`m relativly new to this forum, but went to the S1wx website, and theres a Verson 3 there!!!, (It has extra recovery stuff built into program) Extracted my firmware, repaired it, and now its brand Spanking New.

Music Works Again Finally!!!

Web page

Hopefully someone can upload it to Tools Section here.
Otherwise I have uploaded the Bin file from my player to the Firmware section on this Site. Will post as soon as it gets the moderators approval.

:D Thxs Guys & Gals for all your Help :D

S1wx Version 3 Different

Hi Again,
hmm just checking the downloads section here, and see that S1wx is also version 3, I dont get that. As I used that that version (from downloads) and didnt work for me.
Can someone verify that the S1wx is the same version as the one found at www.s1mp3.de?

lol must have been the error Checking utility that solved it then??!

tadad1 30th Jun 2006 4:43 pm

Amv, Glad to hear you have fixed the problem. s1fwx 3.0 is the same as the one on s1mp3.org so don't know what the problem is there.

Amv

Thanks for updating us with how you fixed it. I will collorate your information with others to create a Knowledge Base on things to try to fix problems with players......

Yes, the s1fwx on our site is ver 3.0 a well. So I think the error checking helped with fixing your problem.
