My music player restarts everytime I try to use it...
 

When go to the music player, it says "initializing..." then an hourglass appears and I eventualy couldn't play music on it. It always restarts whenever I do that. What shoul I do?

dravindragora, I suggest you extract the firmware from your player using s1fwx, then run the repair.bat. Using MP3 Upgrade Tool reload the firmware back to your player.

Have you done anything to your player recently? Have you tried updating it with a firmware etc...?

Has you player ever worked before or this is the first time it's happened and only started happening just recently?

I want to try to establish why this has started. Whether it was from updating a firmware or whether there is a corruption in the flash memory of your player.

1st there were only a limited no. of music files that could be played, after that, it restarted.
the last time i checked, it kept copying folders, infinitely. then there were files called "USB" that took no disk space (had 0kb).
then I tried formating it but the same thing happens, it keeps on restarting but now, i cant even play any music files.

So after the format, you are still having this problem?

Did you try to update the firmware on your player by any chance?

yes. i do. i can only play a limited no. of songs again. about 4 songs. :( . after that, an hourglass apears and it resarts.

dravindragora, have you extracted, repaired and then reloaded your firmware?

NO. i havent. the s1fwx says that it cant detect any hardware. (something like that.)

It must not be an ACTION BOARD if s1fwx can't detect it. If it is a Sigmatel board I do not think there are any apps to extract and repair the firmware.
Is your player working ok other than with music files?
