(Solved) Computer Can't detect my mp3.
 

Hey. First of all I want to say I love this website, it has alot of solutions for alll the unbranded mp3s and such.

I've looked all over the net to finda answer but I just can't and I need your help. My computer can't seem to detect my mp3. Brand is Sandisk, model is sdmx1 512 mb.

I've disconnected it from my computer unsafley, and now it can't detect it. All I see is a window pops out and says computer can't find the hardware, bu this mp3 came wiht a built in harware, and I neevre needed it the first time but now It won't work.

JonnyLev, Your player may be corrupt due to unsafe removal. Try connecting the player to a different USB port.

I don't know if its corrupt because it works fine. The only problem is when I need to plug it into the computer, it doesn't detect it. The first time i tried it, it was working properly adn I could upload songs ands stuff, but now it won't detect. I've tried diffrent usb, but still doesn't detect.

JonnyLev, Could be your usb cord may be faulty. Do you have a link to any images of your player to give me some idea of the type? What version of windows are you using?

Nothing wrong with the usb plug. I'm using windows 2000PRO. Type sandisk sdmx1 512 mb, you'll proboly find some pictures for it.

Some things for you to try out:

1. What if you try plugging your player in ANOTHER computer altogether? Does it detect your player?

2. If you can get hold of another USB cable, I would say try that. Or, try your USB cable on another USB device to eliminate the possiblity of a faulty USB cable.

3. From Device Manager from your computer, try UNINSTALLING anything that has "USB" next to it. Since you have Windows 2000, once you reboot, it should pick it up again.


Try those and let me know of the result.

Yes, the problem was the USb cord...I replaced it, and now its working...Thanks anyways.
