angelxena, If Windows and HP Format Tool will not format the player then there may be a fault in the flash chip. You could try the MP3 Player Disk Tool that is part of MP3 Player Utilities but I fear you may strike the same problem.
The only other thing I can think of is it may be a driver problen and to try either connecting it to a different USB Port, one that you have not used the player on before or another computer.

Failing that I would get on to your seller. For a start I would ask him why your 4GB player only has a 2GB Memory chip and quote him the chip details and ask for a complete refund. If you used eBay and Paypal for the sale then I would contact them as well.

Sorry there is no good news for you but I do not think you are going to be able to fix the problem.

angelxena,

Have you tried the:
* MP3 Player Disk Tool from MP3 Player Utilities 3.68, 4.00 or 3.57 install?

This will also let you format it.
Make sure your player is plugged into your computer through the USB cable before doing so.

Re: formating flash memory

angelxena,

On the left hand side menu bar there, you will see a section called "Downloads".

All our tools, converters, firmwares, etc... are all in the [Downloads] under their own seperate section.

You will need to go to the [Tools] section of the [Downloads] to find the MP3 Player Utilities.

Hope that helps.
