Sam-TheMaster, Is your player still recognised by windows and can you open it in explorer?

Sam-TheMaster,
I am sorry I am not familiar with your player generally the chip you are looking for is the largest one on the board.
I am also not familiar with the version numbers you quote.
I know of 3.5.35, 3.5.37, 3.2.13 and 3.2.16.

All I can do is suggest you folow the DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE, and trying different firmware until you find one that works with your player.

CHET, If you know the version numbser of your original firmware all I suggest is you keep trying random files till you find the one that suits your player.

If your player stops responding and is no longer recognised by Windows you will also need to follow the DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE.

Sorry guys there is no quick fix if you have not backed up your firmware it is all just trial and error till you get it right.

Sam-TheMaster
I can only give you advise based on my own experience. The only player I have recovered is the Nano clone. The steps I took to achieve this are all in the DPRG. The chip that I reset using the process is the memory chip in my case a Samsung 1GB nand flash.
If your player is not being recognised by windows you can not use the upgrade utility to re-flash the firmware of your player. The only way I know to do this is to short the memory chip which resets it. Windows will then recognise the player as a ADFU device and the upgrade utility will announce that the player is in recovery state and you will need to load a FULL VERSION FIRMWARE. Once you have done this you can reload a backup dump.bin.
There are so many variations of firmware and players that it is impossible to tell you which firmware is right for your player so you must try different ones until you find one that is compatible with your player.
The player will have had a driver CD with it, on some you may find a copy of the firmware as a .bin or .fw file but this is not always the case.
