If you have MP3 Player Utilities installed you will find a copy in C:\Program Files\MP3 Player Utilities\RDiskUpdate\driver

angebeer 7th Mar 2008 10:46 pm

I have the same problem... no AdufUpdate.inf file anywhere on my computer or the disk that came with my player... where do I get some MP3 utilities to install in order to get that file?
Thanks for your help... I'm just struggling along with this!

Hi there angebeer, here is the link:

http://www.mympxplayer.org/mp3-playe...ties-dc44.html

angebeer 7th Mar 2008 11:08 pm

Thanks! I installed some utilities from the cd that came with the player (of course, i don't know if it was the 'right one', there are four different ones on the disk!?).
Now have the message that "the specific location does not contain information about your hardware", as I see someone else on the forum has had previously... so I am trying to follow tadad's instructions about uninstalling and reinstalling the driver... we'll see!

zrock 7th Mar 2008 11:12 pm

When trying to install a driver for a player to enter to ADFU mode use the RECOMMENDED option.

angebeer 7th Mar 2008 11:20 pm

I tried using the recommended option, and it says it successfully installs a driver, but it is still recognized as a USB device, not ADFU... any other ideas?
thanks!

Re: cant find AdufUpdate.inf pls help

Good Luck.

thanks for the advice... i tried to use this file, but i still got the same error... i guess i have to keep looking for more different versions of the adfuupdate file!? my computer is recognizing my player as a usb device, and two partitions show up (one 19.9MB and one 3.94 GB), but I cannot format them to 'remove the hack', or do anything else for that matter!?
i wish i knew a little more about this kind of stuff!

Re: cant find AdufUpdate.inf pls help

HI-then you need to go into the properties of the device & select the driver tab, make a note of the vid no: then edit the adfu file to suit, it should the pickup the file...

Re: cant find AdufUpdate.inf pls help

angebeer ,install the latest version of Mp3 Utilities Tool then try to short the flash chip again then use the Recommended option when asked for driver.

interuptor0 10th Mar 2008 4:15 am

angebeer, what chip ur player use? actions? sigmatel? sunplus? rockchip? ALI?

angebeer 10th Mar 2008 4:42 am

Thank you all for your attempts to help!

NSA - thanks, I tried that, but still the same error message coming out...

Z-Rock - I have tried with several different utilities, but all to the same result, and because I don't know if i'm actually 'flashing' my chip (see below... i don't know which IS my 'chip'), I can't comply completely!

interuptor0 - I don't really know which chip I have...

someone said it was AK3221M from the information I provided:

BIOS 3221-MLC-SPI-SPEED-9320-H v8.4.

I have already had several problems. I have opened my player, trying to follow the DEAD RECOVERY GUIDE, but couldn't tell which black box is my 'chip' that I need to short circuit. I can see two black 'chips', but they are much smaller than everyone elses i've seen pictured in the forum (with far fewer pins), the two chips contain the numbers: TEA5767 VDK290 05 SPG/092Y and 25X20 VNIG 0710. Could you tell me which is my chip? Could you also then tell me which firmware I will need for this chip?

My player is recognized as USB, but not ADFU... with two partitions, one is unavailable, one I can access.

Thanks!

zrock 11th Mar 2008 4:09 am

angebeer, shorting the pins again will do the trick.

interuptor0 16th Mar 2008 6:57 pm

TEA5767 is a FM receiver chip, flash memory chip is a rectangular chip with 48pin, controller chip is a square chip with 64pin/128pin

When you save the adfu thing to your desktop..where do you paste it to??

I'm lost...my computer won't recogonize my MP3..

It appears as though a lot of people fix their Mp3 players with help from the site, but the information on how & steps for each process they took is not easy to find...

I have the upgrade tool & I have the firmware..All I need now is for my computer to recogonize it..

I have the MP3 plugged intio Drive E: & when I click on My Computer..Drive E isn't there..or it's there & Windows don't know what to do with it..

Please save me!! I'm losing it..

Thanks for your reply, but my MP3 isn't in the list.. What's gt????? and where do I find my PID?

As stated before my computer doesn't recogonize or show that a device is connected when I plug the MP3 in.. I've tried several connections & different USb cables..same result..

Is there a How to guide for the ADFU procedure? I need something with pictures or something..You said you don't work with Mp3's anymore...this is my first time..so terms like gt & PID look chinese to me..

If you could shed some light on the problem it would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks
Jason

I never seen it there earlier..I just plugged in a working player and it popped up..I ejected the player & closed out the device manager & went back in & the ADFU Driver is there..

Where do i go from here? & is that what were looking for?

By flashing, do you mean updating? or cloning 1 player to another? If so, I've tried both & the MP3 Updater or S1cone fails to pickup my device..

I know that when I get my Computer to recogonize the darn thing the rest will be a snap...

Thanks again for your help..let me know if you find anything..
