Re: MP4 Player Dead - Blue Screen!

PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm at my wits' end. I have the exact same model MP4 player pictured in this thread by the previous poster. 1Gb memory, with FM radio and recording ability. Board number is 639 CSL. One day I decided to update the firmware. BIG mistake! Now I have the same problem as the one above: just blue screen.

Now, I have entered ADFU mode and flashed someone else's dump. Apparently it was not the right dump, because although the player is now recognised as a flash memory stick by Windows (and works as a flash disk), it can't play any MP3 or video: it just has nothing but BLUE screen.

Trust me, I tried very many different firmware BIN files, from this site and all the ones for this board ID from s1mp3.org. Nothing has worked. Best I can get is just the blue screen of death, and a working flash memory stick.

Can ANYONE please explain to me what I should do to fix this device. I know it's a common one, so repair should be possible.

Tadad1, any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Gullwing,
You have not found the right firmware for your player. There are hundreds of firmware now and they are all home cooked by each manufacturer to suit the cheapest parts he could find when making his players and the firmware constantly changes as he finds different suppliers and cheaper parts. I f you have tried all you can find I can only suggest you keep an eye on the new uploads. Sorry I know it is not the answer you want but there is no quick fix for the problem.
