Default Re: Help my mp4 player is dead

Hy guys,
I have a similar problem with my 2GB MP4 player. I left the device for a couple of weeks without using it (it was perfectly working), and after that the player died.

Now, when connected to the computer the player is detected as a generic USB device, but not as an external disk. The player itself does not work, it doesn't switch on.

I tried to short-circuit the flash memory when connected to the computer. I found that the player is detected properly, the screen light on and the normal screenshot appears. The problem is that after a while the player turns off, and then it is still not working.

If I short-circuit the flash memory when disconnected, the player turns on for a few minutes, and then die again.

I suppose it is an hardware problem, cause I did not change the firmware. I checked the mother board, and I found a component that seems to be gone, here a picture:

Any idea what kind of component is? Probably it is a diode, but I don't know where to find one similar.

Hope it will help Munecorey and Serp as well.
HotHello.
