Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
Was it the 1st time you charged it with the wall charger?
If so, the charger might probably have short-circuited some components in your player. |
Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
I had never charged this player with the wall charger, now that i plugned it in again into the wall charger it shows a soft blue scree. Can my mp4 be fixed?

Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
Does the player get detected by your computer as normal when you connect it to the usb port?

Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
No it dosent get detected as before, it only appears as a usb drive.

Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
So i assume you can assess the data stored in the player through your computer.
The charger most probably caused some malfunction or short-circuit in the player. I recommend not using it in future. You had it for a month, if you have some kind of warranty, complain to the seller and ask for a replacement set. Else, you probably need to re-flash with a new firmware. Use your backup dump.bin if possible. You will need to find a firmware with the closes specs of your player (but using the wrong the firmware would kill your player though). |
Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
No i cant accesss the files to the computer, it did not even recognize the player, but i follow a guide in this website to recover a dead player, but i tried a lot of firmwares but none of them work, and the dump.bin file i had dosent work either, i think because is not the full firmware.

Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
Looks like you need to keep trying various full firmwares with the steps in the Dead Player Recovery until you can get it detected by the computer.
Else you can try contacting your seller if he/she has the full firmware for you player. |
The problem with my player occurred the same way...the wall charger. I had charged it before with the wall charger but, the last time...it died!

Re: Help my mp4 player is dead
Hy guys,
I have a similar problem with my 2GB MP4 player. I left the device for a couple of weeks without using it (it was perfectly working), and after that the player died. Now, when connected to the computer the player is detected as a generic USB device, but not as an external disk. The player itself does not work, it doesn't switch on. I tried to short-circuit the flash memory when connected to the computer. I found that the player is detected properly, the screen light on and the normal screenshot appears. The problem is that after a while the player turns off, and then it is still not working. If I short-circuit the flash memory when disconnected, the player turns on for a few minutes, and then die again. I suppose it is an hardware problem, cause I did not change the firmware. I checked the mother board, and I found a component that seems to be gone, here a picture: http://otellomaria.interfree.it/img/Broken.jpg Any idea what kind of component is? Probably it is a diode, but I don't know where to find one similar. Hope it will help Munecorey and Serp as well. HotHello. |
