Default Dead Apple-M V2 revived

Got a new MP3/MP4 Digital Player but couldn't load anything on it, always said disk write protected. So following several posts that stated this usually points to corrupted firmware I updated mine. Couldn't back it up since it was write protected! Took me four days to get it working again with the menus back. Used 3.5.37v2.1b FM.fw for recovery mode than updated the firmware to 8c8392646b8b288dd26411ad3661edb0.bin and that got it back working.
But still stated disk was write protected, so I searched on the web for "disable write protection on a USB mass storage device" and found this post http://archives.neohapsis.com/archiv...5-q1/0300.html which had some registry hacks for XP/SP2. Opened regedit and did HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\StorageDevicePolicies and SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR and added VALUENAME "WriteProtect" with value "0" to both and suddenly I could write to the drive and the action dialog window for the drive popped up for the first time.

Have a Apple-M V2 board with ATJ2085W chip

blackpanther, I have made you two .reg files with the information Waimea has given you, just download them unzip and then double click on them to enter the keys to your registry then reboot and connect your player.
