blackpanther, Try opening regedit and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet and expand the tree. Right click on Control and select New>Key and name the key StorageDevicePolicies. Right click on the newly created StorageDevicePolicies key and select DWORD and name the value WriteProtect and leave it with a value of 0. Reboot your PC.

Or copy this to notepad

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\StorageDevicePolicies]
"WriteProtect"=dword:00000000

Save and rename the file WriteProtect.reg and double click the file and select yes and the key will be entered into your registry. Reboot

blackpanther, Not yet :twisted: I left you a download with the reg files Waimea suggested HERE

Is the player showing up in Windows? If so try reboot windows into safe mode (press F8 while your PC is booting) and try formating the player.
