2GB Nano-clone doesnt work properly

Hi!

My repaired mp4 player sometimes switch off, when i'm playing music. Its totally random, but only in music player mode, in the menu or fm-radio- mode never.
One time it was completely reseted again, and i had to start the recover from the beginning (like the memory chip short-circuit itself)

Sorry for my bad english, if anybody know, what can be the problem, please write.

mrpragay , you mentioned your player had been "repaired" before? Was it a dead player recovery repair or a physical repair (ie. change of components etc)?

If it was a dead player recovery repair, probably the full firmware that you used is not 100% compatible with your player. As i believe the full firmware contains the player's main processing functions.

If it was a physical repair, it might be that something inside is not properly connected.

mrpragay, Sorry to hear you are having problems again. I had this problem once but it was only with certain music files, I do not know what the problem with the files was as they seemed perfectly normal and I had no problems with them on the PC but when I re-ripped them they were fine.
The other thing is you may have bad sectors on your memory, try doing a low level format with the MP3 Disk Tool. This will check the memory for any problems and tag any bad sectors so that nothing will be stored on them in future.

tadad1, this suddenly brings about a similar problem that i have. My player would just suddenly reset with the hour glass with certain music tracks at the same identical time-point almost everytime.
Like you said, the tracks plays fine on my laptop, but has this resetting thing on my player. It's tempermental, sometimes it resets, sometimes it doesn't.

I think, its happen becouse of some static power. Its like when i place my player metalic side to old TV its began to restart. I don't shure on 100%, but try this. Use mp3 disk tool & format player in fat

Re: all

Thank you for answers!

I repaired it physically first, and then the firmware recovery. The repairing was not too difficult, because i only had to do back the battery, and cables. I think its stable now.

For recovery i used the first fw, wich listed on the "dead players recovery guide". Should i try another ones? This works fine, except this only one, wich sometimes makes me crazy.
Sometimes i can listen to music 3 or more hours without any problems, and sometimes it restarts 3 times on 1 track.
It does not depends on tracks, it can restart on the track, wich for example on repeat.

Now i make a try with scandisk in windows, for look bad sectors. The disk tool, wich was on the player's cd says: "unknown memory" or something like this for each format mode.

I will tell what happend!

mrpragay,
What format is your player at the moment Fat or Fat32?
Try building a new partition by removing any files from your player that you wish to keep, open the MP3 Player Disk Tool and go to the Partition Encrypt tab. Move the slider all the way right then back all the way left and press the start button.

This will create a new partiton on your player and quick format the drive, you should then be able to do a low level format

Re: 2GB Nano-clone doesnt work properly

Hi all!

I done the re-partition, and the low-level format in the disk-tool, but nothing changed (i tried with fat, and fat32 too). I also tried an other firmware, and extract-repair the firmware with sfwx but the problem exist... :(

I'm suspicious, that it's maybe a hardware problem, so now i make a try to re-solder the battery cables, and check for other faults in the electronic.

I will tell what happend!

Re: 2GB Nano-clone doesnt work properly

I finished with the repairing.

I think this problem exist because of the instability of the main board. There are 2 screws, wich hold the board, and when they were taut, the restart happend. And the only way when i detected this, when i moved the mainboard.

I dont know, how will i be able to fix this problem completely... Now i skipped a screw next to the jack-in, now it works better. maybe... :)
