My player is dead (Blue Screen)

I have the same problem as many other seems to have
I tried to update the player from 3.35.5 to 3.35.7.

After that it got f**ked up. It is recognized by the computer
as an USB mass storage drive. But in the recovery guide it says
that it should be an ADFU Server (or some thing like that)

SO what should I do ... DO it have to be an ADFU Server Device?
I'm trying to format it right now.

Ps . Its the same Mp4 player you used in the Recovery Guide.

Felix, The section in the guide that is in red text outlines how to load the ADFU driver.

Yea I know and I have tried to use the adfu driver, but when I select the .inf file it says : "No hardware information" or something similar

So I checked the ignore signing shit ..

But it wont change the driver :(

Ps. I have tried to use another port , and I choosed to update the driver .

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)

I think I know what the problem might be ...

When I press update driver I dont get to choose the Hardwaretype ... perhaps thats why it wont work ..

Finally .... :D I got it into an ADFU - device by shortening the chip again and again , abd finally it worked ..

Now I just need to find the right firmware ..

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)

I have just one question (please answer.. )

I have a dump with the firmware which I extracted (but when I use it it says Flash error)

What should I do should I try to find a full version firmware for the player or should I(in some way) use the dump?

tadad1 4th Nov 2006 3:46 am

Felix, Did you run the repair.bat file in the s1fwx folder after you extracted the firmware.

tadad1 4th Nov 2006 5:13 am

Felix, Can you zip your backup and upload it to www.sendspace.com and leave me a link so I can look at it.

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)

Have you looked at it ?

tadad1 5th Nov 2006 3:33 am

Felix, Yes, sorry I find no obvious errors in the firmware. I can only suggest you try some of the other full version firmware first before your dump. If this firmware was extracted from your player I see no reason why it would not load. I do not have any 1.5 inch players anymore so can not try it.

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)

Ok I'll try some more ... but thanks anyway :D

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)

Now I have ANOTHER problem .. :(

The mp3 upgrae program seems stuck .. :S it says version 3.0.42
with every file I try ... I tried reinstalling it bur no luck ..

tadad1 5th Nov 2006 4:52 am

Felix, Try connecting your player to a different USB port, one you have not used the player on if possible.

Felix 5th Nov 2006 4:53 am

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)

I managed to fix that problem :D

You have to install the program to a different location when that happens!

Re: My player is dead (Blue Screen)
