Dead player help please

I have a 2g player that is dead. When I switch it on I get a black screen with the hourglass icon which doesn't go away. I don't have a backup of the firmware so I need some help. The chips are:

ATJ2085D
Samsung 632

I think the firmware version is 9.0.48

Please help

himax, This is going to be a problem for you because at present there is no way to create a viable backup of 9.0.XX series firmware. In a situation like this the Dead Player Recovery Guide would be the best method to recover your player but you would need a full version of your firmware to do this.
The only options I see for you are to check the mini cd that came with your player to see if there is a copy of the firmware there.
Contact your supplier for a copy of the firmware.
Return your player for replacement.

Thanks tadad1,

I have checked the CD and there is no firmware. I am hoping that someone else might have the firmware on a different CD.

I have already tried all the firmware I can find, so far no good.

himax, What size is your screen?

It's a 1.5in screen.

himax, I have a full 9.0.43 for 1.8 LCD but it will be no use to you with a 1.5 screen.

I just looked at your original post and if your chipset is ATJ2085D I do not think your firmware would have been a 9.0.XX series as they are used on the ATJ2097 and the CTW500 chipsets which support 2.0 inch + LCD's. The ATJ2085 usually runs the 3.5.35 or 3.5.37.
