Default Firware extract

I have a dead player which needs version 9.0.48, I have borrowed a friends player that has the same firmware. Is there a way to extract a full version of the firmware successfully.
Regards
Max

himax, There is no way to extract a full version firmware because some files in a full version are just for preparing the player and loading the firmware they do not actually get put on the player so can not be extracted. At present there is not even a way to make a usable backup of 9.0.XX series firmware. s1fwx will have to be upgraded before this is possible.

I have had some success. I tried a version 9.0.43 and the player accepted it, but the screen went dead, the PC detected the mass storage device, so I formatted the drive the re-loaded the firmware. But still have a dead screen.

Try checking the cd that came with your player.

Do a search for a file with a .fw as the extension. Those are full firmware files.

We don't have any on our site at the moment. So if you find them on your cd, perhaps you can upload them to the site too?
