Dead MPx player
My MPx player recently went through the washing machine and still worked fine for a couple of days but now it doesn't turn on even when connected to the computer. Can anyone help me? My player looks the same as tadad1 reviewed here but is 2 Gigabytes.
Thanks in advance. |
Re: Dead MPx player
Hi, maybe some water or washing powder got stuck in the player and shorted something? You could open it up and use a hairdryer to blow the water out (not too hot). If this doesn't help a soak with contact spray (pressure cans) could wash out stuff that makes a shortcut, but STAY AWAY from the screen, it can hardly handle liquid, a wonder that that wasn't killed first!

Re: Dead MPx player
Thanks Que, I dried it in the hot water cupboard and I think it is dry. I have opened it up and the connections on the chips looks like there is a mold on some of them. I played around with tweezers shorting the chips and it turned on for a few minutes and was recognized by the computer and still had all my files on it but then it died again. I will try cleaning them as you suggested.
