USB DISK DRIVE DETECTED, can't come to ADFU position; HELP
Please help me with the problem I have.
When I was uploading music to the ipod clone, it broke down...I follow the dead player guide and now I have the player in blue screen. I read almost all the topics in this forum, but I couldn't come to the solution. So far I put v3.35 on the player and now is in this so called blue screen state. When I connect my player it to the PC, it founds out a USB disk drive. I followed the instructions to get ADFU drive, but I can't. So now I can't come to recover mode again. What to do? I also want to know, if I put full firmware to the player, do I need also upgrade it with file dumb.bin? Do you know which firmware do I need? My player is 1,5inch LCD, nano clone with a chip HYNIX KOR: HY27UF081G2M, The smallest number is M7SA0394.. Please help me !! Thanks to everyone! |

Jackolegend , when your player is in recovery mode, you will need to upload a FULL firmware first before your player can accept a firmware dump.
Try formatting your player first with the MP3 Utilities Disk Tools before uploading the Full and dump firmware. It is almost impossible to tell which firmware is suitable for which player, and it all a matter of luck. I'll suggest that you try all the firmware dumps for your player's screen size. |
Re: USB DISK DRIVE DETECTED, can't come to ADFU position; HE
I tried to format it with mp3 disk tool but it says "not supporting this type disk". I managed to format it with windows explorer. But it's no change, I can't put my player in recovery state...
Windows always detects is like a mass storage device. When I turn on player it blinks once, and then takes 10 seconds and blinks again and then windows detects it. ID of player is MP-693C-SL MAIN V.1.3. 20051214. Another question is, can I short circuit the player also when the lcd screen is in blue state? Or this could break player? Please help me... |
Re: USB DISK DRIVE DETECTED, can't come to ADFU position; HE
Jackolegend , i'm not very sure about shorting it while it has a blue screen. But generally, if your player cannot be detected by the Upgrade Tool, you can just short the chip to force your player to reset, irregardless of whether it is black or blue screen.
So i guess it should be alright to short the chip, it'll just reset the player. |

Thanks.. I managed to come to ADFU state with short circuiting. But now I want to know only this.. When I put full firmware to the player, and then I turn it off. When I turn it on again ist that correct, that mp3 player is again known as usb disk drive?
Can I in this state upload my chosen dumb.bin. It always says in upgrade tool, that is invalid firmware (dumb.bin). What should I do.. Change the full firmware, or just try many dumbs... Thanks again. Really. |

Jackolegend , after the full firmware flashing, turn the player off. Then on it again and wait for it to start up. Can you access the USB disk drive in explorer? If you can, proceed with the firmware dump testing.
If you can't, format the player using Windows. Then try if it can be accessed via explorer. If you keep encountering invalid firmware with different firmware dumps, format your player again with the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool. Then try again with the firmware dumps. |

Sorry.. for asking this, but I don't understand!
I access the USB disk drive in win explorer after putting the full firmware! But I dont' get it what you mean by -> proceed with the firmware dump testing. That means, that I should again use MP3 upgrade tool and choose one dumb.bin? Or should I just copy dump.bin to flash drive (mp3 player)? Thanks lattesurf. |
Re: USB DISK DRIVE DETECTED, can't come to ADFU position; HE
After a successful Full firmware flashing, you need to flash in a dump firmware again. Without a Full firmware in your player, you can't flash in a dump firmware. So in total, the player needs 2 working compatible firmwares (full & dump) in order to be recovered.
If 1 dump firmware does not work, try another dump firmware. |
